My work SUCKS!!! I think I may only get 2 weeks paid ... I am planning on taking 6 weeks though. I know I am going to want more...but don't know if I will get it. I may be looking for a new job...or none at all!

Ainsleigh,

Do they let you use sick time?? I know at the job I had prior to having my son, I could get paid for as long as I had sick time. So for example, I went on Mat. leave on Oct. 25 and I was paid full time wages until sometime in January. I ended up resigning in April but if I had gone back, I would have had to build my time back up for maternity again, I guess.

I only work part time now...like 20 hrs a weeek at most normally. My company is very small, but with DD they gave me the normal 6 wks, just unpaid of course b/c I'm part time. I have no vacation or sick hours available to me. DH and I have mainly decided that I'll stay home with the two kiddos for a while, until I have the time and energy to find a decent job that can help pay for daycare for the kiddos.

I get 6-8 weeks at 100% pay, then I have about 2.5 weeks vacation I can use. I am going to look into FMLA but b/c the location I work at only have 35 employees, they don't have to give it to me. Ideally, I will take 12 weeks off, paid or unpaid, I don't really care.

I am still not 100% certain I will go back at all. I have such guilt about leaving the baby already. Work just gave me an 11% raise and basically told me that I should strongly consider and they don't want me to go.

I am going to see about working 4 days a week for the first 6-12 months. DH is home one week day and if I could be home a different one, we would only have to worry about childcare 3 days a week. That I think I could live with.....
