Default Re: Announcing to family

None of our pregnancy announcements were ever met with happiness. After our 3rd we got a lot of negativity from my parents/family in particularly. My in laws are usually always happy for us - but then again they only had 2 sons and probably never thought they'd end up with currently 9½ grandkids at the moment (unless we get our BFP then it'll be 11 GK by the end of the year. SIL is due in Aug).

Most of them end up being conveyed through a rumor mill, which I never know how or where they started from. I once was very careful in not telling anyone except someone at church, and from THAT it reached all of my family. My one cousin blabbed even though I told her not to.

I think for me, though, it works out better that they get told second hand. They have time to process and come up with a fake happy response rather than a knee-jerk negative response.

I am going to try and keep any pregnancy news a secret for as long as humanly & social medialy possible. LOL But I'm the oldest of 6 and somehow it always slips from someone. :-/
