Icon5 Question :: Nursing Bras

I was wondering if the BTDT Mom's could help me out a little bit.. I want to buy a couple nursing bras before the baby gets here but I have no idea what size to get. Are my bOObs going to get bigger when my milk comes in? Smaller? Stay about the same? I have no idea .. Never did this part before

Thanks!!

I have never had luck buying them beforehand, and have always had to try them on first. Sorry I know that is no help.

Mine got bigger for a week or so when my milk came in and then shrank down to about the size I was right before delivery. Of course they got bigger and smaller over the course of the day day too as my supply went up and down. I am really big already, grew a lot with pregnancy and had a major oversupply, so your experience may be different.

BTW: I was too big for nursing bras last time. For daytime, I would just pull my bra strap off my shoulder (I wore stretchy shirts that I could pull my arm out of easilly.) For nightitme for the first few months, I cut the tips off of one of my bras. A maternity bra would have been nice for that. So, if you want to wait, it's not a huge deal to have them at the hospital.

I bought a couple different size cheapies to take to the hosp., then after a couple weeks got some good ones! I went up 2 cup sizes when my milk came in--stayed there too!

I got huge when my milk first came in, then shrunk a little bit after those first couple weeks. Ditto on buying a couple of cheap ones. I would wait to invest in anything expensive until you have a better idea of size.

Thanks ladies! I think I will just try to hold off until after the little man is here. Maybe I'll grab one in a size bigger than I am now & bring that to the hospital with me so I have a least one.

I bought a couple cheap ones to get by until DS was born. After my milk came in, I went up almost 2 sizes so I would definitley wait.

2 sizes?! Geesh! I already have stretch marks on my bOObs .. It's only going to get worse, huh?

Not a single stretch mark on the belly tho, so I guess that's good.

Yeah, wehn my milk came in, I went up two sizes. I stayed there for about 3-4 weeks and then went down a size, still putting me up one size from where I was. Stayed that way for over a year, until the number of times I nursed started to reduce.
