Icon9 I was in a car accident yesterday.

I was on my way to a meeting for work yesterday, so I was driving my work car. Halfway there, I got a call that the meeting was canceled. So I had turned around and was on my way back to the office. I was going straight through a green light and there was a woman coming the opposite direction who turned left on the green light and I broadsided her. She said that she didn't see me coming because there was a bus in the lane next to me. She got a ticket for failure to yield the right of way.

I had to go to the hospital and they admitted me into labor and delivery. Fortunately, the baby seems to be fine. They kept me on a fetal monitor for three hours and took some blood from me to make sure that there was no fetal blood in my blood. Now I have a call out to my ob to see if she wants to see me also. They sent my chart over there from the hospital, so I don't know if she is going to want to see me or not.

It seems like the baby is fine, so that is obviously the best news. I have a couple of scrapes on my arms from the airbag, but other than that I am fine. I did destroy the car, which I am upset about because my work owns the car, but they are not upset or anything. I do think that my boss is going to prohibit me from traveling for the remainder of my pregnancy - she was pretty upset and worried about me and actually left work to come see me at the hospital to make sure that I was ok. I travel a lot for my job normally, but I got the distinct impression yesterday that she might not let me do that for a while. So it looks like I might be confined to the office for the summer. She sent me home for the day today, so I am just hanging out with Henry, waiting for my ob to call me back.

So that was my eventful day! I am just glad that everyone seems to be ok. It was pretty scary for a while there.
