I was like that with u/s with my last two...and it drove me batty and I felt it was highly unnecessary...one of the reasons I refused to be tested for gd...didn't want the lable and all that went with it this time....I will monitor my sugars at home same as last time....if there is a cause for concern I will let my mw know.

Maggie - I am definitely refusing all testing for GD next time (if we find ourselves blessed again). I got into an argument with the perinatologist's receptionist because I didn't want to go and see the geneticist (had already seen her for my pregnancy with Summer), and then got sucked into a one hour meeting with their dietitian when I went in. I finally told them that I wouldn't come in and do the u/s if they wanted me to see the geneticist and low and behold it suddenly wasn't a requirement. I swear this office tries to milk every penny out of my insurance and give their staff a reason to exist. They actually wanted me to switch to Insulin injections (which would have required me to deliver at their office/hospital instead of in the town of my choosing with my doctor who is not an OB and our hospital doesn't have a neonatal nursery, etc.). My sugar's are fine - I test daily, and I'm careful with what I eat. Sheesh!
It is unbelievable how invasive some doctor's will try to get unless you practically throw a fit every time you see them - then they try to make me feel like a horrible patient/mother. I can't win!
Little rant - LOL.
