This is a discussion on MTV Rocks the Cradle with celeb's kids within the General Reality TV Discussion forums, part of the Reality TV category; MTV wonders, is music in the genes?

Can DNA really make you a star? That's the question MTV was asking when they cast the children of rock stars and music legends in "Rock the Cradle," a weekly "live" singing competition series beginning April 3 at 10:00.
The contestants include Landon Brown (son of Bobby Brown), A'keiba Burrell-Hammer (daughter of MC Hammer), Lara Johnston (daughter of Tom Johnston /The Doobie Brothers), Chloe Rose Lattanzi (daughter of Olivia Newton John), Crosby Loggins (son of Kenny Loggins), Jesse Money (daughter of Eddie Money), Jesse Blaze Snider (son of Dee Snider), Lil Al B Sure (son of Al B Sure), and Lucy Walsh (daughter of Joe Walsh/The Eagles).
I'm actually working with MTV to promote the show and I think one differentiation between this show and others like it is at some level or another; most of the contestants actually have some level of performance experience behind them. They should be able to rock it in a way that you don't typically see in shows like American Idol. Do you guys think anyone is going to stand out amongst the performers?

I just don't get the judges on this show. I can't even see how Chloe got on the show. I don't like her singing and she is pretty painful to listen to and watch on the show and yet they rate her really high.
As it gets down to the final three, I think the judges have been really biased. Chloe is still there yet still painful to watch or listen to. I DVR so I can fast forward after listening to her about a 1/2 minute. As far as Jesse.....he is eye candy but so full of himself. I can't stand to watch him knock around Crosby. Lara was a sweet girl and by far she should have gone further than Chloe...that's for sure! Crosby...he seems like a kind and gentle soul and he is a good singer. I didn't like how Lucy wanted all her "fans" to vote for Jesse. That was a low blow. I think we all know the outcome already and I'll watch to the end but if this show comes on again, count me out.
