While picking up a refill of the kind I like (they taste like vanilla, yum.), I was horrified to discover they are $180.00 for 3 months (180 pills)! (Think Dr. will give me samples for the next 6 months? ) And that is WITH insurance!!! I have a bottle of $20 prenatal vitamins in my bathroom cabinet that has 250 pills in it. Clearly, the $20 is more cost-effective. Would I be a bad mom-to-be if I just took the cheaper kind? They have all the vitamins in them that the super pricey ones do (the only difference is the cheaper ones have 800mg of folic acid in them compared to 1g in the pricey ones), but if I'm currently addicted to salads, shouldn't the folic acid in the greens supplement that? I'm feeling kind of guilty for not buying the pricey ones...all because of the small difference in the folic acid.
