How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I am always hot, and I can't even get off the couch. When I wake up my face is red, I feel hot, and I feel like my heart is beating fast and I have just ran a race, it takes me about 30 minutes to feel okay after waking up...not sure if this is normal or not.
I keep my house VERY cool, and I have a fan in my living room constantly running and a fan in my bedroom always on high, and I only sleep with a sheet on, and when I wake to pee or take my meds in the middle of the night, I notice that I am always sweating, last night I was actually wet 2xs when I woke up, the house is like 70 degrees, I had ONLY a sheet AND the fan was going.
I always thought, what's the big deal being pg in the summer?! I am now eating my words.
How is everyone else coping?

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I've been trying to hold off using the a/c, but today I just can't bear the heat and humidity!! I'm always hot and sweaty, eeeewww!! And on top of feeling HUGE, I just can't stand myself!!
Today I made an effort and went to play at the park with my daughters between 10am and 1pm... the worst time I could go, right? I feel so disgusting!! I could be napping with my daughters, but I can't sleep, I feel too hot!!

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I try to do things that are pretty low key and don't require too much effort! We took DS downtown last week and I felt so overheated and panicky - there were so many ppl around, it was hot and I started to feel really clausterphobic (sp?). It was not fun! My hands and feet were swelling too. So when it's really hot we just hang out at the beach cos then when I start to feel overheated I just go and put my feet in the water. Or sitting in the shade with a cold drink helps too. At home we have the fans going but at night it's pretty stuffy. This summer is going to be brutal!!!!!!

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I have my good days and bad days. Sometimes I am chilly with the fan on, but then sweating without it.
I keep wearing really thin shirts and actually bought another dress (big deal for me, I don't wear dresses normally) and am trying to find ways like that to keep cool.
I also try to down the water and I bought a few mini fans for my desk at work.
So far, its not been the worst, but its not 100 yet...we shall see.

I am miserable and stay close to the AC at all times, here in southeast texas we have humidity which makes the heat even worse... it is a hot sticky heat all the time...

I've been staying in the A/C constantly. I overheat quickly. That's all I'd need right now. Popsicles are my friend right now too!!!

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I'm not doing well in this heat, our humidity is very high and we're in the mid-90's. I sweat sitting in a cool house. I do get a rapid heartbeat if there is any exertion period. My hands and feet feel hot all of the time.
I am going to try swimming this week if the doc will allow it.
Where are the cool days of fall at?

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I'm constantly fighting with DH about the a/c. I turn it on, he turns it off. He and DS are wearing winter clothes to stay warm and I'm sweating like a pig just laying around. Phle!

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I'm right there with you, its brutal!!
we have AC, fans, etc. and I can't seem to get this place to cool down well enough!
we went to my moms cabin for 4 days last weekend, and I just couldn't function, I sat in a lawn chair in the shade the whole time, sweating, with a horrible headache, pounding water... and then struggling to climb up a hill to get to the outhouse every 20 minutes because of all the water I was drinking.. for now.. we are at home, and we stay in the house where its somewhat cooler! (thankfully my daughter is not crazy about playing outside)

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
We have our a/c on 70 or so and when I get extra hot I also turn on the ceiling fans. I sweat every single not due to be overly hot, however, it doesnt help that my 100 pound dog sleeps on top of me. I plan on just staying inside for the rest of the summer and/or laying in a pool. It is way too hot outside just to sit outside. I know I am hotter due to being pregnant, however, the summers in Florida are always HOT!!!

Living in Florida, we are pretty used to the heat considering it is rarely cool here. I keep the fans on in the air conditioning and we swim a lot.

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I feel like a hot sweaty pig all the time. I'm not enjoying the heat. usually I LOVE summer, it's my favourite season. But this time I'm struggling. I've constantly got the air on and a fan blowing in my face.

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
You know, I haven't been as miserable as I expected. This has been one of the hottest summers in Texas I can remember (hits 100 almost every day!), but I have been able to stay inside or go to the pool a lot.

Re: How are all you gals doing in the heat?
I'm embarrassed to say that our air has been set to 66 for the last few weeks - I really dread opening our city bill this month. I swell up so badly in the heat though and figure it's worth it to be comfortable. Though as I was walking from the house to the car today I was asking DH how pregnant women ever survived without air and he told me I was spoiled I am, I'll admit it.....
