Who has one already? Who is making one? Who does not care?

Re: Birth Plan
I don't really have a plan per-se. My doctor and I have talked about it a little bit and I told him I don't want a c-section if we can avoid it and that I'm a total wimp when it comes to pain so I'm likely to o.k. an epidural. He kinda laughed at me when I said the last part because I was rather emphatic about it. In my case though some of my comfort with the epidural is that I work in surgery at my hospital and the same anesthesia people that work our floor also work OB so I've seen them give LOTS of spinals and such before and know their skill level with them. It also means I know which ones are the actual Docs and which ones are the CRNA's and who is a student so I can shake my head and be like "Ummmmmmm, sorry, you're nice and all but get me the Doc on call" lol.

Re: Birth Plan
I will make a birth plan because this is my first. Having never been through this before, I need a written plan to tell the docs what I want because I know I'll be caught up in the moment and I would like to stick to making it the experience I want as much as possible. And of course, it also gives me something to do while I sit here on my butt day in and day out and I'm just a big list person in general! Now, if only the doc would talk to me about how she works and her policies during births so I dont put a wish down that she just will plain ignore anyway.

Re: Birth Plan
I am very admit on certain things even with a repeat c-section, and I don't want nurses or other docs (not worried about my OB) doing things against my wishes so I have jotted things down, I am not sure how much of a format I am going to put it into, but I am going to make something up.
Also, I know there are several non vaxers on here, are you planning on bringing exemption forums with you or just verbally refusing vitamin K and hepB (and or eye goop)? I would verbally refuse them, but I am scared someone might do it against my wishes, and with a proper exemption forum, I can sue them and threaten to beforehand

Re: Birth Plan
I'm not doing a birth plan simply because I know from my own nursing experience that 9 times out of 10 if you come in expecting things to go one way, you're setting yourself for failure. I've seen too many times where women come in expecting a drug free birth with no separation, no bottles, no pacifiers, etc. and they end up having an emergency c-section with a sick baby that needs constant monitoring in the nursery. It also sets you up for disappointment if you feel your birth didn't go the way you wanted. Your birth will be what it will be and mostly because you want what's best and safest for you and your baby at the time.
I completely trust my doctor and my friends are the nurses/anesthesiologists/etc. and I know they wouldn't do anything to harm me or my children in any way, shape, or form. I plan to breastfeed but am willing to allow my children formula should they have low blood sugar issues to avoid an IV. I will vaccinate so there's no issues there. I'm having a c-section so no worries about epidurals, pain meds, or an episiotomy. The most important part is you have a healthy baby with a healthy mom. That's the extent of my "birth plan".

Re: Birth Plan
non here either. I know what i'd like and what I dont. Other then that well i'll just wing it. OH well I do have one plan .... to make it to the hospital in time lol. My last came 19 minutes after I got to the hospital. I am so freaked about this one that i'll probably camp at the hospital at any signs of labor.

Re: Birth Plan
No birth plan for me. I know I want an epidural and I trust my doctor on the rest. I know "the birthing experience" is very important to many of you, and most of you have very definite ideas on how you hope the day goes. For whatever reason, I don't. I just want the baby safely in my arms, and I'll be happy. (And I'll be even happier if we can do it in as pain-free of a manner as possible! )
