Default Pumping/BM question

So the post on breast pumps & a response got me thinking... So as an experience mom, I don't know everything & would love some feedback...

Here goes... My milk took over a week to come in. It gradually came in & I never felt engorged or let down that most women do. I didn't have very much supply & I ate oatmeal, took the supplements anything I could to try to get my milk come in/supply up.

I ended up having to supplement with formula to help H with the jaundice. Once she got a bottle & how easy it was to get food, she didn't want to nurse anymore. We tried & tried and when I thought she was nursing, come to find out she was only using me as a pacifier...

So a post on the breast pumps thread about only getting 5-6 oz at a sitting got me thinking. I remember being sooooo excited that I got 5 at one sitting that I called my Mom.. I was ecstatic

Having this happen again is my biggest fear/concern. I want to nurse my baby as long as possible... So what advice can you give me to try to get this to happen?

I had a Pump In Style last time & when everyone raved about it, I never felt that it pulled hard enough to draw anything out... Is Hospital Grade pump THAT much better?

Sorry for the long rambling... just been worried about this since I hit the 12 week mark and the odds of miscarrying droppe greatly... one worry to another I guess.
