Re: new contractions
Do they go away when you stand up? BH contractions get worse when you lie down or sit. Real contractions will pick up when you stand up and walk around.
I'm guessing that since you are able to come on here and type, you aren't in real labor.
However, if you are in so much pain that you cannot sleep, then go to the ER so they can give you something.
Good luck! Keep us posted!

Re: new contractions
well they still come when i walk i have to stop walking and put my knees together. My DS woke up and as soon as i picked him up out of the crib, bam 1 hit!! i really quickly set down in the chair with him, then onother one came, i had to hold in not saying anything so he would go back to sleep, it was weird because my dog even knew something was comming on because he got up and raised his head the whole time till i laid my son down

Re: new contractions
Well if you're in a lot of pain, you should see what they can give you, if anything. I'd call and ask before going in.
Also, I have a 23 month old who weighs about the same as your boy, but I absolutely cannot lift him all the time. I get down to his level or sit in a chair and he'll climb up to me. If I lifted him all the time, I probably would've had these twins already, lol!! I have lots of stairs here, and when he needs a diaper change, I hold his hand and we walk up the stairs. I just don't lift him hardly ever. He's learned to walk or climb so I don't have to lift him all the time. HTH's, and take it as easy as you can.

Re: new contractions
he also walks, i do that what u do but i have to lift him sometimes lol i probally just give in to early thought because he throws his hands up and whines. I lift him to put in truck, i lift him to take him to bath, i lift him when he wants up to get his sippy, and i carry him to the bedroom when he goes night night, oh yeah and also put him in the high chair, omg i wish he knew how to climb in that thing!! come to my house and teach him LMAO!!! oh yeah and i have to lift him in and out of the crib. but other then that i let him walk every where exept on concrete because he isnt that good a walker yet has fallen and scraped his knee. i hope i get over this paranioa over my DS soon or ill be messed over when ethan gets here lol!!! hmm i wonder if he climbs on to the couch it would be better for me to lift him.

Re: new contractions
I know, there are definitely times you have to lift them. The times I have to lift him are when I get him out of his crib in the morning and when I want to change his diaper on the changing cart.
He seems to understand when I tell him I can't hold him...and usually tell him about the babies in my tummy making it hard. He's just very easy going about it most of the time.
I guess I have one advantage over you in that I get my 12 year old son to lift him when he can. But he honestly doesn't need to be lifted up very much. Dh puts him to bed in his crib at night...so there's one less time I have to lift him, kwim?
Anyway, I know it's not easy, and you do what you have to do. You're almost done with the pregnancy!

Re: new contractions
I hope the contractions go away soon for you so you are more comfortable. Let us know what you decide to do.
My dd is 2 and luckily she climbs into her high chair and is so independent that I only have to pick her up now and then. I hope you are able to get some good rest tonight.

Re: new contractions
Not to sound cruel, but you really need your son to become more independent. Once the baby is born, you won't be able to pick him up all the time either. You need him to be able to do things on his own, or else you'll be very overwhelmed when the new baby gets here.
My son is the exact same age as yours, and he walks everywhere, climbs into his car seat, climbs onto the couch, and even climbs into his booster seat by himself. Sometimes I'll hold his hand if I think he may be unsteady, but I'll give him encouraging advice, "OK...put your foot right here. OK. Now stand up. You can do it." That really seems to help.
You may also want to transition him out of the crib or highchair unless you bought new ones for the new baby. We are re-using our crib, so our son will be moving to a big boy bed in the next few months. We just took him out of the high chair we use because the new baby will sit in it during mealtimes (just to keep it safe and off the floor) and we don't want our son to be jealous.
How are the contractions going?
