I had the best 4th of July weekend I've had in some time. I woke up early Thursday morning and heard that the Nelson brothers were putting on a free concert close by. For those of you who aren't familiar, they were an 80s band that is the twin sons of Ricky Nelson. My sister and I had a Nelson poster in our room for YEARS growing up and listened to their tape a COUNTLESS number of times. We weren't allowed to go to rock concerts, though, so never thought we'd get to go see them. So, I immediately called my sister (at 6:30 a.m.) and told her that we HAD to go. So she quickly rearranged their entire weekend so she and her family could make the 2 hour trip north to come! It was AWESOME! Even though they are 40 something now and have cut their hair and we're all married now, it was like we were kids again and it was soooo fun! My dad and step mom were already coming to visit me for the weekend anyways, so we even got to have our daddy chaperone us at the concert! So then, my dad and step mom stayed with us Thursday and Friday nights. My step mom and I brainstormed, and then all 4 of us worked our butts off to get Owen's room ready Here's pics of the finished product! I just love how it turned out, but especially love that we even got his Daddy and Grandaddy to help us! Truly made with love!
