Default It's back...

It's a little past 10pm, and I can feel the acid reflux just like last night. It's horrible. I purposely ate dinner at 6pm...with the kids and haven't eaten a thing since. I even drank water instead of something else, just to try to fend off all of this.

How am I going to sleep??

I hope that by propping myself up, I can get some rest. I bought some new Tums today and even got some of the new Tums instant dissolve powder that I like better than having to chew anything....hopefully it works

I find that water makes my heartburn soooooo bad. So, I either drink milk or gatorade only.

With the twins, I get heartburn pretty bad. I take the liquid Mylanta right before bedtime. Then, if I wake up with heartburn, I have the tums smoothies by my bedside. They actually taste pretty good!

I hope you find some relief that works for you.

water gives me heartburn too... but so does gatorade.. milk is about the only liquid that doesnt cause heartburn.

i dont like the tums smoothies, but i do like the regular tums... my doc says mylanta or maalox would be so much better tho, i just havent tried em cuz tums does the trick for me

Sorry you are feeling bad...I hope that you feel better soon!!!

You may want to ask your OB about Zantac...it really works for me.

Today the nurse told me there was nothing to do about it. We've just reach that stage were heartburn is really bad because the organs are being displaced more and more. I bought an extra gallon of milk just to have it. I went through 2 1/2 gallons this week. Sorry you're miserable

Oh wow, I'm completely surprised by your nurse saying there's nothing that can be done about heartburn! I would NOT be sleeping if it wasn't for the Mylanta and Tums. They take it completely away, and I am measuring at least 42 weeks preggo with twins. You can also watch what you eat and how late you eat. That definitely helps! I know some women will sleep in a reclined positoin as well. I haven't had to do that yet. The meds are taking it completely away.

Nothing is working here either. I take prevacid once a day and maalox liquid AND chewables throughout the day and the night. Last night was one of the worst nights I have had this pregnancy. Sleeping propped up did not help either. Miserable!!

I have no advice- Tums are working for me so far. Sounds like there are some other things you could try though. Sorry you are feeling so bad.
