Convertible Car Seat vs. Travel System

Have you guys decided what type of system you will be going with? I am a bit torn between what type to go with - either the convertible that goes from infant all the way up to a booster seat holding a 65lb/4ft child or a travel system that you can take of the base in your car and then put in the stroller but won't last as long cause the baby will either outgrow it in weight or height fairly soon.
