This is a discussion on Bassinet or Crib within the Due in August - Expecting Precious Poppies forums, part of the Due Dates By Month category; what are you guys getting? bassinet or crib? or both?...
I have both. He'll sleep in the bassinet for about 4-5 months and then into the crib.

I'll probably put the twins in a crib next to my bed. I'll also have swings in my room should they want to be rocked. I tell ya, swings are a life saver!
We co-sleep, so the baby will be in our bed at nighttime. Someone gave me a bassinet, so I'm thinking of using that during nap time to keep the baby safe from its siblings.
My son is still in the crib, so we have to start working on getting him out of it. He's the first kid we've had who sleeps REALLY well in the crib, and I don't want to mess it up!! But my DH doesn't want to buy a second crib.

I'm sure we will do what we did with our son....bassinet for the first few weeks (he outgrew it very fast), then a pack n' play and then *maybe* a crib. We still co-sleep with our son. We have a crib, so I'm sure she will use it for naps at least.
Neither. We learned last time around that a crib makes for a very expensive cat bed/laundry basket! We'll use the pack & play for naps and she'll be with us at night.
Basinette then the pack and play. Both attach to the bed so he will be right next to me.
That as close to co-sleeping as I can get my husband to agree to. If am an feeding this little one, I decide where he sleeps.
