Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
I would say bring your own pillows and even a blanket if you can. I swear I froze to death! I also used the underwear that they provide. I brought my own PJS but I pretty much was in the hospital gowns until the day I left. I'm trying to think but thats all I can think of right now. I will post more if I can think of more things.

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
Bring your own wipes...they provided washcloths to change diapers for your baby and they are SO rough.
I had dh bring me an outfit for day 2. They were just a pair of workout pants and a tshirt...but, it was so much better than wearing my nursing nightgown and having people see that.
My hospital provided mesh underwear...which i wore exclusively and stole a bunch for home....so i wouldn't ruin my undies.
They also provided granny pads...again, i used and didn't use mine until i got home and was out of theirs.
My boppy for bfing
bring a pair of non slip socks you can toss out when you leave the hospital or flip flops you can wash.
Good luck! I had a diSept in 04...ah....memories!

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
I wish I had packed more yoga pants/lounge wear. I wanted out of the gown after they got me up from my c-section. I only packed for a vaginal birth stay (which I planned to be short) so DH had to go home and get more for me.

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
My DH went home most days to take care of the animals so he was covered in that aspect. I wish I would have brought more lounge clothes for me and bringing your own wipes is a really good idea, because the wipes they give you aren't very convenient. For the baby, I brought a couple of outfits for her to wear in the hospital, they were the gowns with the mitts so she wouldn't scratch up her face.

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
I wish I had brought more than one outfit for him. They didn't provide me with too much for him to wear. Definitely wipes as they are really inconvenient. I did everything like all the other ladies, except I brought a comfy tank top and PJ pants to change into. It felt so much better to be in my clothes. Make sure you bring chap stick, as hospital air is super dry

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
I didn't use 1/2 of what I brought....I wore the hospital gowns....their *fishnet* panties....I came home in the same outfit that I went to the hospital in.....other then my shower toiletries...and a coming home outfit for baby....I didn't need anything else.....I did bring a robe but forgot my slippers...so every time I got up I had to wear my flip flops.......definitely the BOBBY.....that is what i wish I had brought with me!
My hospital provided all the baby diapers (pampers swaddlers) and gave a package to take home and also the wipes (pampers sensitive)...in the big container....so I was covered there....as far as baby clothes....they checked the baby so often that I though that I thought the little t's and diapers were fine during out stay.......

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
I begged my mother and she brought MY PILLOW for my second night stay. Hospital pillow made my neck HURT.
I did not use my panties. "too much blood" Loved the mesh panties from the hospital.
Did not use my own nightgown. Used the one from the hospital "again too much blood".
I brought and used my own toiletries and I was so glad I brought my boppy and chapstick!

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
Things I was happy to have, my robe, blanket and pillows.
They provided pampers diapers, wipes, baby blankets, knitt hats, little shirts for the baby along with pads, cold pack pads, mesh panties even lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, soap, etc so I used their stuff. And yes, we were sent home with the diapers and other assorted goodies. As the nurse said, everything is yours except for the linens.
I wish I would have brought snacks & movies (or something to entertain us)

Re: question from DIS, Hospital bags
I definitely second the notion to bring your own clothes. I changed into lounge pants and t shirts on the 2nd day and I felt so much better.
My hospital didn't give me many panties so I brought my own knowing that I would only wear them in the hospital.
Also, I loved my ipod. I also brought a puzzle book to keep me occupied when I didn't have the baby with me.
Good luck!
