Product Review: Mimi Maternity's take on the belly band
Now that my belly is starting to at least bloat a bit, my pants were getting uncomfy snug around the middle. So I went to Mimi Maternity's to inquire about the Bellaband to hold my pants up. They did NOT have the BellaBand brand (which I wanted to try), but they had a storebrand that they were selling for like $26 which is comparable to other brands. I bought one in black, and the few times I've tried it, I don't like it and wouldn't recommend it.
That's not to say it wouldn't work on someone with a different body. . . maybe someone with smaller width hips, straighter shaped than me. (I consider myself of medium build, 5'-8" weighing 150 lbs. when not pregnant with narrow waist, wider hips.) When I wear the band, it's fine as long as I am standing and not moving around. But as soon as I sit down, the whole thing rolls up to my waist, and my pants end up about to fall down anyway. That also may be because it is not wide enough in coverage from the top of the belly down to the hips.
Also, the black material picks up lots of lint and ends up looking kind of dusty.
Has anyone compared this Mimi Maternity brand with another brand? If so, I'd like to know what they think to see if it's worth investing in another type. Also, if anyone's had a good experience with this brand, you might want to post it here too so that I don't totally discourage others from getting it if it's done good for you!
