Default Is it possible...

...to have a UTI or Bladder infection with no burning when you pee? I am just trying to make sense of this lower abdomen pain that is preventing me from walking normally. I called the Doc the other day and they didn't think it was a UTI because I said I had no burning, but I just don't know what else is causing me all day discomfort. I thought maybe appendicitis too but I have no clue!

Yes that's possible.
You know they have those at home UTI tests that you can get at the drug store for only about $10
They had 2 different kinds the last time I was there.
Although you can still have one even if it doesn't show up on the stick, it very well could show up on there. They have worked for me before.
I hope you get some relief!

I think so too. Maybe you should have it checked out just to be sure. I hope you feel better soon.

Lurking....

asymptomatic UTIs are VERY common in pregnancy. I've already had one this pregnancy. I only found it because the doctor does a UTI test at everyones 12 week exam. I have to have another test at my next appointment to make sure it goes away.

I would call your doctor back if you think the pain is from an UTI and demand a test. If your OB won't do it, call your primary care doctor, as they should be able to do the test for you as well. UTIs can be dangerous for pregnant women as they can lead to pre-term labor, and pregnant women often have absolutely no idea they have one!

Also, where is the pain, exactly? Left, right, center? If it's your appendix, you'll have something called "rebounding" which means it'll hurt when you push on it, but it'll hurt more when you stop pushing. If the pain is on your right side by your ribs, it could be your liver, which my midwife told me can be a sign of pre-eclampsia if you're blood pressures been high.

If it's down low, it might just be intestinal or it could be the start of braxton hicks or something like that.

Good luck! I hope you figure out what is causing the pain soon!!

Yes, every one that I've EVER had has been asymptomatic. I'd get checked out at your next appt, and until then, lots of water and unsweetened cranberry juice (or cranberry supplement). UTI's can get pretty nasty and dangerous if undiagnosed and untreated.

Whenever I've had a UTI, I've never had the burning! I've been lucky to catch it sometimes.

Thanks for all of the information. I have a feeling that is what is going on with me. I am going to call first thing in the AM and pretty much demand to be seen! :0) I can't handle much more of this barely being able to walk thing.
