So I was reading the thread yesterday about 2nd baby syndrom and wanting cake....and ALL I COULD THINK ABOUT WAS CAKE!!

Rhietta has GD - so cake is NOT part of the diet...lol....it was consuming me....so I bought a chocolate fudge cake on my way home from work

I took my numbers right before I ate....94 (good number) and then....I ate cake...a big peice of cake....and then I chased it with a salad...had to try to balance out all the sugar I just ingested.....took my 1 hour reading.....136 (have to stay below 140).......took a 2 hour just to make sure it wasn't a fluke.....116

It's amazing.....I was able to eat cake....regular chocolate bakery cake (from the grocery store of course) and my numbers agreed with it......I'm just flabbergasted (wanted to use that word...lol....) I drink choc milk and my numbers go into the 200's.....yet cake....can't beat it!!

Just in case it was a fluke....I'm not going to eat cake again.....until I get another craving that I just can't satisfy with anything else.....TODAY is a good day!!!!!

Awesome!!!

May be b/c it has sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup??

My GMIL has some really awesome diabetic chocolate cake recipes if you're interested I can ask her for the book

Ooh that's great! I'm jealous! I crave cake...

One tip is to eat something high in protein at the same time to balance it out (like cottage cheese).

Ok I lied....I had cake AGAIN last night.....cept this time chased it with Tuna Salad (yuck) but...once again.....numbers stayed low.....yippee shippee......my big fear now is.....I'm only up 15lbs total this pregnancy....add choc fudge cake into the mix.....that 15 can quickly turn into 35......
