No baby yet!
I had a dr's appt. today and apparently Keeley is very comfortable where she is and doesn't plan to come anytime soon. I was 1 1/2 cm dilated and 50% effaced last week and the dr. said I haven't really progressed at all. I go back Monday and they'll do another ultra sound to measure her growth and the ambiotic fluids again (it was lower today than it had been, but still within the safe range). They'll decide what to do depending on her size and the fluids. They said that they'll only let me go a week late no matter what since she's getting so big (8 1/2 lbs two weeks ago!) and we'll talk about inducing then. She's being stubborn enough that we might end up with an August baby after all!

Re: No baby yet!
LOL, try thinking about it this way: in 2 weeks and 2 days, you'll be OVER due. In 1 week and 5 days you will be of "average gestation" for a white mama, and a first time mama. Ultrasound is notoriously wrong up to 22 days or 2+lbs, so trust your body and trust God (if you are a believer) first. Your body will not grow a baby you can't birth
Dilation/effacement doesn't mean a thing... you could go into labor TODAY. or you could dilate to 3 and stay there until you're 41 weeks!
Good luck, and remember to drink lots of fluids the day before/of your next u/s... dehydration will lower your fluid levels!!

Re: No baby yet!
I'm right there with you Carla! I'm due 1 day after you, and at my appt. today, my doc said pretty much the same thing "someone's very comfortable in there". I'm only about a fingertip dilated and slightly effaced, but as Sunny (and my doc) have said, it really doesn't mean much...who knows, we could go into labor tonight. Hard to think that way though when I keep hearing everyone else is at 2, 3, or more cm! My doctor has pretty much said that she will let me keep cooking this one unless the testing that will start when baby is officially overdue shows signs of fetal distress. Soooo, I think this one is an August baby for sure! At this rate, I'm pretty sure I'll be the last Due in July mamma to have her baby.

Ugh, I'm with you ladies! I'm convinced Noah's holding out for August! Hopefully not too much longer for all of us!

It can't be much longer for any of us now... like Tom Petty says "The waiting is the hardest part".

Re: No baby yet!
Right there with you ladies. DH was all excited today when I told him I lost my plug.......until I told him that can happen 1-2 weeks before you actually go into labor. No real contractions today, just some cramping. I think my little guy is in it for the long haul.

It could still be tomorrow Carla! (And everyone else).
I'm excited for all the due in July babies to be here...but it will be a little bittersweet.

Re: No baby yet!
dont listen to the u/s....they said 7 lbs 8 oz when he was 37 weeks and he was born 2 weeks later at 7 lbs 5 oz. you could go into labor at any time, hopefully you wont need the induction! good luck!

Re: No baby yet!
I agree about the ultrasound being off- I had one at 37 weeks- they said Griffin was about 7.5lbs- he was born almost 2 weeks later at 7.4 so it can be off!
I hope all you ladies that are waiting on meeting your little ones get to do just that real soon! This IS the hardest time!!

Re: No baby yet!
Oh I hope you ladies all go real soon. i'm sure you are all getting uncomfortable. I wouldn't listen to the u/s either but it just depends cuz i had one 2 weeks prior and it was pretty much on track. But when I had my son it was a different story. He was born a month early and 2 days before the u/s said he was 7 lbs 3 oz and when he was born he was only 4 lbs and 11 oz. So I would go with what you feel.
Goodluck to you all and sending labor vibes your way!

Re: No baby yet!
I think they say that the u/s can be off by about 2 lbs either way.

Re: No baby yet!
You know, I posted that I thought my baby was going to stay put and I had him with 48 hours. I had no feelings whatsoever that I was going into labor. Of course, my doctor stretched me from a 2-3 cm to a full 3 cm which seemed to jump-start what was already labor in progress. So, it could be any time now!
