Icon9 Im dying of a toothache!

I'm around 6 weeks pregnant, give or take a week either way and I'm DYING of a toothache! I had issues with this tooth earlier this year, took some vicodine and all was good to go until now. I know I should have gone to the dentist to have it taken care of but the dentist freaks me out beyond words. I put it off until I just can't put it off anymore like right now.

I went to the ER on Saturday night and they gave me 15 tylenol 3 with codine along with penicillin just in case there was an infection (which I think there is). I have four left and have been trying to get away with not using them but I don't seem it stopping before I run out. Can a dentist pull the tooth while pregnant? If so, I heard they can only give you a local injection, no gas and that SCARES me. If it were up to me I would go to the dentist and be totally knocked out, it's that scary for me.

I'm kicking myself in the butt right now for not going when I had the chance. I just can't function with it hurting this badly and I worry about taking any type of medication while pregnant and being this early scares me even more.

I have tried orajel which works for about 20 seconds, over the counter tylenol which works for about 15 minutes and not very well I might add, the tylenol 3 which works for about 2 hours but I'm only allowed to take it every 4-6 hours, and the only thing that helps is a very very warm hot/cold bear pack (thanks to my kids... LOL) heated up in the microwave and put on my cheek.

I have used some of that stuff to repair a lost cap or filling on a different tooth where the filling came out (I told you I hate dentists!) and it worked great, no more pain but the pain wasn't like this so I worry about putting it in and it drying and not being able to get it back out and the pain being worse.

I need some major advice!
