Default GD superstitions?

Just need to know if I'm the only wacko here...

I find that I consistently get lower reading if I measure from a particular finger. Anyone else notice this or have their own routines when testing?

OMG... my dad (who is actually diabetic... obviously he couldn't have GD) says the same thing! If he does it on his left pinky finger it's always lowest OFC being a guitar player he wishes it was his right

I took my meter with me to test my blood sugar after my second 1 hour test. My numbers were 20 points different between two fingers and then about 10 points different on a third finger. It really made me wonder. I passed that one with flying colors even though on my meter I was borderline.

Lurking from DIA.

I never thought about that, but I've been having low readings and I've been using my ring finger. I'm going to try a couple different fingers when I test in 15 minutes!

I just stuck myself 4 times to see if it varied. This is the order I pricked myself and what my readings were...all on my left hand.

ring finger - 97
index - 100
middle - 132
pinky - 93

crazy! I guess I won't be using my middle finger anymore......at least for testing purposes.

OH wow. I have never noticed if there is a difference. I will be experimenting as well.

I will definitely be experimenting with this one too. Very interesting! My numbers have been great most of the time but I usually use a different finger every time I test.
INTERESTING!!!

OK glad it just isn't me. Although, for me it is the outside of my middle finger. The inside of my middle finger is roughly the same but slightly higher. Unfortunately that one finger is getting tender because I use it a lot!
Also, I was just told ( maybe every one else already knows this though) if your finger touches the test strip it can alter the results as well as the cleanliness of the finger.
