hey lady.
I saw your post about what an internal is. Well, here is the dirty....
this is much like a gyno exam...they have to inspect you on the "inside" to see if you are dialating/efacing and to see if the baby is moving into the birth canal. This usually happens in the last month of your pregnancy. So, i think it would be safe to say that the last 4 regular 9 mos appts your dr's are going to get more action than your dh/so etc.
Fun stuff to look forward too...huh???

And I wanted to add that if you have some spotting or a LITTLE bit of bloody discharge after ward that it is normal. I had a very sensitive cervix last time, and did that with each one. Then being a first time mom I would freak because of it! But your OB will discuss with you how much is normal and how much is a sign of early labor.
OH... and you can also feel crampy afterward if you have a sensitive cervix too. BUT, mine always lasted an hour or so and then got better.
Just like I would hurt after a gyno visit, and then get better.

Ahh, the joys of pregnancy!

Sorry if my post seems too negative! I actually was happy to see progression too. I just don't want you to be scared if you bleed or hurt a little after. I went to the hospital twice with false alrams! I felt like such an idiot. So just trying to help ya out a little

It isn't a fun feeling, but It is fun to see the progression in those final weeks.
