Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
Since so many of us have already had their babies and Angela brought up that she was having to return to work this week; I thought we might see who all will be going back to work and how much longer you have off with your new bundles of joy? What are your feelings about it? Who will be watching your little one?

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
Not me With 4 kids, I couldn't find a job that paid enough to get me enough to bring home, plus pay gas and pay child care! I'm thankful that my dh is able to make enough that we can afford the luxury of me being at home. It isn't always easy and I have thought about trying to find something part time...but then I would never see him.

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I work from home so I know it's not the same. BUT, I've definitely been using valuable work time to take naps and just cuddle with the kids! Soon--financially--I'm going to HAVE to pick up some hours!

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I'll be going back to work about 7-8 weeks after KL is born. There is no way that we can afford our lifestyle on just one salary and we're both too spoiled to have to scale back THAT much.
My dh actually got laid off last week. Great timing... So now even more than ever I have to hurry up and get back to work. As of yesterday, I was put on short term disability which automatically cuts my salary to 60%. Not to mention the first 8 days of leave without pay since I am not currently hospitalized. Blah!
My MIL will be KL's caretaker once I return to work. So I know she will be in good hands. Thank God!

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
Zara you are very lucky to have MIL watch your children. My mom has watcheda ll of my sisters children so that they could go back to work.
As much as i need to go back to work i will be home full time until I stop breast feeding. So for sure atleast the first year. I never went back to work after Isabella. I was getting ready to go back 2 days a week and then got PG. DH will watch the kids if and when i go back.

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I won't be going *back* to work, I had two part time jobs, one that was out of the home and the other in. I will and have been doing the one from home still. It isn't very many hours, but it is for the company DH works for and brings in a little extra cash.
I too am very grateful for a hubby that makes enough to allow me to stay home, not that we have an extravagant lifestyle by any means! We will have to be pretty tight on our budget, but I think it is all worth it!

I will be going back to work. I am taking most of the summer off, and then returning at the end of August.

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I forgot about who is watching my kids. My dad and my neighbor will be watching owen and anna. My mom has one day off a week and will take care of the kids. Anthony will be in full time pre-k.7:45-3:00. I usually get finished working around 2:30. It is nice because i don't have to take the kids out of the house. I just have to figure out how to get anthony to school since I have to be in at 7:40. I know they have before school and after school care.

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I will have to return to work. Today was my last day to work, and I am being induced Friday. I will be out for 7 weeks, returning the week of August 11th. I have the families insurance plan with my work, and with two kids with pre-existing conditions it is way to expensive if not impossible to get independent insurance until atleast 5 years after my daughter's last grand mall seizure (it's been 3 years). The good thing is I only have to work part time to keep my benefits. So I will be working part time. My dh owns his own business, so he will be with the baby while I work. Atleast until the baby is 6 to 9 months old. If it is too difficult for him to get paperwork, etc done with the baby there, we are lucky that two mom's I know have daycare's in their homes in our neighborhood where the baby can go for 10 - 15 hours a week.
I know for someone who is returning to work I have it pretty good. I still already dread the idea of going back. Maybe once the baby is here I will not feel that way. I do love my job and I work in pediatrics helping children and their families so I feel what I do is important. Right now with being 3 days away from birthing, everything seems impossible and upsetting (got to love those prego hormones and last few days )

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I am able to work from home as well and my job isn't terribly structured - I'm actually starting back to work on Monday (baby will only be 2 weeks old) but I'm bored around the house and it gives me something to do. At the end of the summer I'll go in once a week or so but I'll take the baby with me. I'm hoping to be able to work from home nearly full time until January - we'll see.

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
I will very likely be looking for a job and trying to put my degree to use sometime around Aug. or Sept. BUT that is if I can make myself do it. It will definitely be hard, I'm sure. We will probably use Kylie's old daycare for Cohen and she will either be going to the building for the "older" toddlers (same daycare but different buildings...though they are trying to add on to her old one so that they can merge) or to Headstart...if she ever gets off the waiting list.

Re: Who Else Will Be Going Back To Work?
Well, I was looking for a new job and had actually just sent a resume out when I found out I was pg. So, needless to say, my job search ended that day. I am very fortunate that my DH makes good money so that I can be a SAHM.
