That was a slow leak and labor did finally progress.

Our beautiful Cassie, whole name to come once spelling is decided for sure, was born at home in water (mostly...if getting technical...I ended up having to get up on one knee in the pool so my wide-shouldered gilrlie could be helped out) this morning, on her EDD and my grandpa's birthday, 6/25/08. She arrived at 9am, after a really great labor followed by a very, very unexpectedly intense, painful, and long pushing stage...will explain later... Mommy unfortunately ended up all torn-up but our baby girl came out wailing and wonderful!

I knew she was a chunky monkey and I was right! She beat my heaviest baby (Ellie) by a pound!

Her stats:
9 lbs
20 in

Just a quick peek...

Can't believe I'm sharing this here...this was after hours of sweat, tears, face cloths/no make-up, and lots of water...but I did it! (And yes, my oldest DD is wearing her favorite cat ears w/her jammies...LOL!)

Thanks to everyone who offered support and prayers; I needed them for sure!

Oh...and I just have to add...I am SO GLAD she is out! (More so than ever before!) We are all totally in love!

Awww, congratulations, Melissa! I knew you'd make it before July and I am sure you are relieved! Cassie is just gorgeous!

And how ironic that she was 9 lbs and you also had SPD while pregnant. Cohen was 9.2 and I had it too...something about those bigger babies, eh? Btw, the SPD is blissfully gone now! I had wondered if it would ever go away and had my doubts that it would even after having him but it did.

There is so much I want to say! I am so proud of you for doing the home birth! You are my hero! I can't believe you did it. I am so sorry the labor was so long and painful, but Thank God you and her are okay.
She is a lucky girl to come into such a loving family. I am sure that Ellie is a smitten kitten over there and already telling you what to do with the baby!
And the boys I know are in love too!
I am so happy for you and your DH. You have another beautiful memebr to add to the family! I can't wait to see more pics and hear more about it!

Cassie is gorgeous and I can't believe she was 9 lbs! Beautiful baby! I am so wishing I could have had a home water birth! (I just had to settle for the hospital water birth ) So amazing! Did you like the water?

Lurking but I wanted to say congrats! I had to post when I saw your update, my precious is here and you named your dd Cassie. I am due with my third in Sept, having cs in August but my first dd will be 6 in July and her name is cassie, to top it off when I joined the baby boards my name was mypreciouscassie, lol.
