Default Slings... pouch or ring style, whats better?

which do you all find easier to use..the ring slings or the pouches?

I only had a baby bjorn to use with Mackenna when she ws a baby in 2000.. my daughter who is soon to be 8 years old.

I think I want to use a ring sling, or I guess I will have to use 2 actually.
Are the pouches easy to use? I have seen they have strtchy ones and ones that are velcro adjustable. The rings slings appear to be the easiest but how are those rings on your shoulder.. do they start to dig in at all??

I have a lot of sponsors on my website that have sent all types of slings as prizes to give out on my website so I have been able to look at those and see what they look like and how they work to an extent. I just do not have any way test one out so I know what I want to get.

Plus even if I had a friend with a baby I would not want that weight on me, I would be afraid of hurting my twins.

ALSO Can you really wear 2 babies in one sling? If so what kinds can you use for 2 babies in the same sling?

I saw some sites where it showed moms wearing 2 slings at the same time. I wonder how easy that is or is not and if it makes you feel immobilized at all?

Doesn't someplace make twin carriers/slings. I swear I saw and or read it in some thread someplace on SK's. Have you tried asking the twin board yet? They will be a lot of help in that area.

I like slings when they are little and carriers when they are bigger.

Some of those slings and wraps out there look confusing and time consuming. Im impatient and dont like to waste time adjusting and fitting. I like the easy 'just hook me up, load them in, and we are off' type things. Yeah, cheap and boring I know.

You must get a Moby Wrap so you can do this :

Isn't that too cute! It's a wrap and it's pretty easy to use.

Otherwise I'd skip the ring sling, I find them bulky and slip too much, and go with a pouch sling. I loved my hotsling with Ais because I didn't have to adjust anything, and just plopped her in and did my shopping, no fuss. I'm going to have a pouch sling and a moby wrap for this baby.

I prefer the pouch style as well. I got a Peanut Shell with Ellie. I've only had one ring sling (a bulky padded one before I knew any better LOL!) and the rings slipped all the time and it never felt adjusted right. It had plastic rings...maybe the metal ones hold better? Not sure? I really want a solarveil sling (with a summer baby) this time, but not sure if I want to spend the extra $25-30 I've seen for a pouch one...so I may end up trying a solarveil ring sling.

For twins, I would think wrapping would seem less bulky (than two slings) since you could wrap them up really close to your body. I have no idea about putting two in one? I would think that would be hard in a pouch since they're pretty fitted anyway...but, then again, I've never tried it. Do you know of any BTDT twin mamas you can ask? Of course, when they're a little older (good neck control) you could pretty easily do two mei tais - tie one on the front and one on the back. You know, I bet you could do two Kozy (bigger mei tai - more padding at the neck area) carriers with twins from early on. The lady who makes them wears her babes in them from newborn stage up on her website. I'm such a mei tai lover since even the best sling does bother my neck and shoulder after awhile. Mei tais distribute weight more evenly.

I have been doing a lot of investigating between a ring sling and a pouch and i am also going to go with a pouch. Something similar to a hotsling.
I did a lot of research on thebabywearer.com and asked a lot of questions.
I think its the quickest thing for running errands is to throw on a fitted pouch so you dont have to do any adjusting. And its good for a newborn.
Good luck with your decision
