Default Preg Brain

Ugh. I HATE pregnancy brain issues. I keep leaving my headlights on. Today was the 2nd time in one month--both times drained my battery, but luckily, each time a friend offered me a jump.

It isn't a tragedy, I'm just wondering what I will do next. A friend at work suggested to make a habit of circling the car when I park it.

With my last pregnancy, I left my purse in the grocery store shopping cart. When I went back to get it, it was still there; outside in the cart corral.

I'd still trade the drained battery for a baby any day, though.

Aw, ya poor thing! I'm glad you were saved with the jumps and your purse stayed put though...that's really great! I can relate all too well to preggo brain...oh my gosh! I've been very absent-minded here as well.

Here's my best-ever (or most horrific?) preggo brain story to date:
I actually walked into the men's restroom when pregnant with Ellie (one in the front end of a busy Super Wal-Mart where everyone could see, no less...I'd avoid even a women's restroom at all costs there...but I had to go. ). The urinals didn't even phase me at first. I went to walk into a stall and saw this guy walk-in and give me a weird look. I had to go bad, but was creeped out (just the two of us in there), so left...only to find out *I* was the complete WEIRDO! It's funny now, but man was I humiliated then. My DH couldn't stop cracking up.

Oh...then there's mommy-brain when in the midst of chaos and/or exhaustion...I left our travel system stroller in a Toys 'R us parking lot (thank goodness the kids were loaded in the van) when Kiley (#3) was about one. I realized within a few moments...it had already been stolen. SO CREEPY (someone had obviously been watching me and pounced)...

Any of you with these types of temporary insanity or forgetfulness are not alone!

Melissa, that is hilarious...I wouldn't loved to see the look you gave that guy when you thought he was the perv.

I got one too...my dh has his own business and I had just deposited a large check a few days prior. Well, one afternoon I go through to get cash, get my money, feel kind of wierd, but drive off.

About 5 hours later I'm at the grocery store about to pay for my food when I can't seem to find my debit card. Then it hit me...I left it in the ATM and there was a line of people behind me. I didn't even get past the point where it asks you if you're done with your transaction. The person behind me could've easily just answered "no" and cleaned us out. Granted, if they're smart, they know there are cameras, but that wouldn't stop some people from ordering stuff online or over the phone. Scary. Both my dh and I called the bank and cancelled the card. I also had them check all transactions that day and thankfully everything was legit. *whew* That was about 2 weeks ago...and low and behold, my new card just came in the mail today. Hopefully I won't screw this one up again.

preggo brain is lovely isnt it? lol...

when i was pregnant with my oldest, i turned onto a one way street, at night, and was wondering why in the world all these headlights were coming my way!!! i started honking my horn and swerving and thankfully a cop saw me, turned on his lights and then it dawned on me..........DUH!!!!!!!!! he came up to my car, im sure expecting a drunk person and here is this very sober but very pregnant woman. oh my.......thankfully, i didnt get a ticket, but man am i ever grateful i had an angel looking out for us that day!!!!

oh yeah.....one more doozie.....once again with my oldest. i was cleaning the bathroom and the place where we used to live you could not get the toilet clean, but i was having some serious nesting issues and was DETERMINED to clean that damned toilet, soooooooooo what did i do:??????? i mixed two cleaning products, ended up having to go the hospital because i was having trouble breathing and the fire dept had fans going in every room!!!!!!! i KNEW better.........geesh! no, the toilet still wasnt clean. lol

I am right there with you. The best was when I (recently) walked out of Payless with a pair of shoes in my hands and didn't pay for them. I was so embarrassed.

These stories

Melissa, people are NOTORIOUS for stealing travel systems or strollers. I don't get it; I would never steal someone's flipping stroller. I had never heard of this until I read a poll on how many people leave their strollers somewhere and everyone of them had them stolen.
