It's been over 4 years since I last did this and I'm having the hardest time remembering what I need! I still have plenty of time but want to get my list started. I do remember bringing a ton of stuff that I never used. So, what are you packing in your hospital bag?

All that I can think of now.....

Me:
robe
slippers
hair binders
clothes (going home)
cellphone(with all important phone numbers in it)/charger
camera/battery
boppy
pillow (but I love our hospitals)
toothbrush/paste
lotion
boobpads
nursing bra
pump
A few pads since the hospital provides them.
maybe shampoo/cond, but the hospital has some fast and easy all in one stuff, which I really like, lol.

Baby:
carseat
going home outfit
blanket
paci
diaperbag (maybe with a couple diapers and wipes inside)

DH (and kids when the kids visit):
snacks
drinks

Hospital provides:
ALL toiletries
diapers/wipes
baby wash
shampoo/cond
anything to do with the baby and what you need, they tend to have.

Easy way to not overpack is to call your hospital to see what they all provide. Youre paying for it anyways, even if you don't use it.

Honestly, not much. I packed way too much stuff last time.

*Aveeno lip balm (a must for during labor!)
*pony tail holders
*jammies
*robe
*change of clothes fro DH
*deodorant
*contact solution
*glasses/ contacts
*breast pads
*snacks, snacks, and more snacks! I was always starving while I was nursing at night and they didn't have anything good to eat (and it took too long to get!)
*iPod
*video camera
*digital camera
*laptop (so you can all be updated!)

I think that's it. Anything else I need can be brought to me later. I also am having my mom go to the store with Kate to pick up some gender appropriate clothes to bring the baby home in. She'll take what I want back home to wash after I pick stuff out. (Although Matt LOVES Zara's outfit and wants to use that!) I also leave ALL of my jewelry home when I go to the hospital. It's just safer than having to put it somewhere when you take it off and less of a hassle when they do the inventory of what you brought with you for insurance purposes.

I remember packing a ton of stuff I didn't use either. I should probably start thinking about my bag as well.

I'll take:
comfy jammies and my favorite pillow
toothbrush/toothpaste
shampoo and hairbrush and a couple of extra rubberbands
camera - extra batteries
a couple of dvds to pass the time
slippers and socks
deodorant
nursing bra and breast pads
chapstick
clothes to wear home
snacks
maybe my boppy pillow

that's all I can think of.

Those are some great things to bring.
I hung my bag up in my closet and put in a few things already.
I will slowly put things in everyday when i think of it.
