I need some advice... because while my OB told me that the swelling in my feet is infact swelling, it's not as bad as what it could be. It is within "normal" range for pregnancy. Then why is it so painful to even walk? I slept on the couch lastnight because it's hard to even go up and down the stairs... my scandals wont even fit...
What do you think?

Today:
There's definately a difference between yesterday and today...
Am I just being a baby??? Is this normal? It sure doesnt feel normal
Swelling towards the end is normal but it can aso be a problem (pre-e, I think). Keep your feet up as much as you can during the day. Limit salt/caffeine intake too.

You definitely appear more swollen today, especially IN your feet. Yesterday's photos look like your ankles are bigger, but of course you probably took those later in the day and today's are from this morning. I would let them know about this swelling. To wake with this type of swelling is more of an indicator of PE, in my opinion, than if they get this way after being on your feet all day. That was one of the things my doc told me to watch for when PG with Ava - how my feet looked the next morning - since I was teaching when PG with her and on my feet a lot. If I woke to them being swollen I was to let him know.
I'm not sure if it's normal or not but that's what my feet look like all the time. By the end of the day they're even more swollen. I do get a pinching sensation in them at times when I'm walking too.
Ok I just wanted to ask... I think this is the worst it has been in ANY of my pregnancies. I wanted to post pictures and get a feel of what everyone else is experiencing!
In the last few weeks of my last pregnancy I literally had rolls around my ankles. Your ankles look slim and trim compared to how mine were. My bp was fine - I just retained water like crazy. It went away about 2 weeks after Ava was born. It was completely freakish and I hated it but my doc wasn't worried about it so I didn't worry too much either

yea, I just talked to my high risk caseworker for my work and she told me that it is normal too... I told her to not even be able to wear your shoes? She told me yep. I can't imagine going through the next few weeks like this... I seriously have a hard time walking!!!!
I have never had swelling like this in any of my pregnancies.... seriously this is just something else to add to my dilema :*(
I haven't really had any swelling with pregnancies...I don't know if it 's because I stay active or if it is because I am just lucky. I did have my right ankle swell just before I had my 3rd, and then after- but it was because he was laying on that side and the circulation wasn't as good. If you can, try to walk a bit, you don't have to walk far or fast...just walk a little. Get the circulation going. Also, drink water. Maybe that will help.
Your ankles do look more swollen yesterday than today. Today it is your feet.

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.
I am also suffering from the same thing… I have been told to rest as much as possible and to elevate my feet above the level of my heart when lying down, to reduce the swelling. Also drinking plenty of water is important…It has helped me; I hope it helps you a little too.
Maybe it's a fifth baby thing? This is my fifth pregnancy, and the first time I've had swelling in my feet/ankles. Mine look just like yours. Even the tops of my feet are swelling and it feels like they will pop open when I walk. ugh. I had a little ankle swelling at the very end (I was already past my EDD) with my first and I thought that was bad, but this is ridiculous. I have one pair of flipflops I can wear and that's IT. Even my "big" flats I usually wear to church at the end of my pregnancies cut my feet first thing in the morning and don't fit at all by lunchtime. I was a little worried, too, since my feet are still swollen in the mornings (but not my ankles, usually), but my doc says it's fine. I'm drinking about a gallon of water per day to try to help and I've reduced my junk food (sodium) intake, but I think I'll just be swollen till I deliver. Oh well.
Try to keep your feet up, it seems to help a little. At least you know you're not the only one!!

Thanks again =) while I am sorry you have this as well, am glad to hear it is pretty normal. I feel like my skin is going to rip open from all the pressure of fluid in my feet!!!
With Isabella I had severe edema and even though you think your feet and ankles couldn't get any bigger mine were horrid to look at and stand on. they kept an eye on my BP which always was fine, so I guess it is great you are keeping a really close eye on your BP for the risk of Pre E. I had to swim twice a day and it actually helped. I have been swimming for the last couple of weeks since the club pool is open for the season and it helps.
I would call the doc to to check in. It couldn't hurt. Hang in there girl......you are so close.
I told her to not even be able to wear your shoes?
That was me with my first daughter, middle of winter and I couldn't wear shoes, I drove barefoot even, I was so miserable.
Putting your feet up above your heart does help, I sleep that way some nights too. My swelling is bad and my feet are unrecognizable. I put socks on yesterday and my socks left a ring around my ankles. I wear my croc flip flops and my feet look SO fat, it's terrible. My blood pressure isn't an issue though, I have very low BP, runs in the family.
I never had swelling during my last pregnancy but this time I do. I attribute it to the warmer weather. I have been wearing flip flips that were a bit wide on me to begin with and now they fit fine. I try to keep my feet elevated when I can (not easy with a 13 month old) and keep my circulation moving.
Hopefully you can get some concrete answers tomorrow!
I just returned from my OB and was concerned about my swelling and my feet look like yours. She said that it was "normal" pregnancy swelling and she wasn't concerned ... even though my flip-flops were leaving marks on the top of my feet. I have the same worry that my feet are going to split open from the pressure.
She said that she is more worried about swelling related to pre-e if it happens in your hands and face too. Just feet is normal.
Plus, I had no protein in my urine and my BP was 124/70.

Ask the Dr if you aren't sure. I know it stinks because I remember that feeling of your feet feeling like they are going to explode. It wasn't as bad as what yours sounds like but it wasn't pleasant.
