icon16 needed a lift

So I have been feeling pretty pittiful lately and finally talked to Dh about it and told him I just need to get out of the house (I am a litteral Stay at HOME mom) so on Saturday, even though it was cold and windy and snowing, he took me to get my nails done, I feel a little better, I know it sounds stupid but just something as little as getting nails makes me feel a bit more like an attractive woman.

I really need to get my hair done so I think I am just going to ask my neighbor to do it, she does a really great job and doesn't charge me so that would be nice, I need a trim and color before my shower on the 12th.

Oh yeah my MIL decided to throw a shower for Zailee, she doesn't know what she is doing so there is no games or any of the traditional shower things, just snacks and people talking, it is an open-house shower and she has taken the libberty of inviting all of her family including kids and everyone who wants to come, I had to call the club house at the appt where I live and schedule the party with them, I feel so rushed with the party because we have to have everyone out by 2:30pm and cleaned up by 3pm because management has to close it by then and then on top of that I have my DGD's 1st b-day party that starts at 3pm that I HAVE to be at because my friend (her mother) is putting me on a huge guilt trip if I don't go. She is really good at making me feel like crap! If I wasn't named god mother of her DD I don't know if we would be close friends at all?

Anywho, sorry to unload on you ladies but thanks for reading if you made it this far.

Glad you got out some and are feeling better. Little things can make a difference and aren't stupid. Little by little. Gotta do what you gotta do.

Hope everything will go well on that busy day you have coming. If you end up being late to the b-day party, oh well. Im/We're always late on arriving to things. It happens. Id give her a boat load if she said anything to me...don't mess with a pg lady, lol. Good luck and enjoy YOUR day. Then enjoy the b-day party afterwards.

I need a huge lift myself. I feel the exact same way as you. Literally stay at home mom. Only places I go are to my appts. Don't dare go anywhere else because youll get attacked by some bug. This weather sucks to no end (Heavy snow warning til 1am tomorrow). The snow and cold temps are never going to end. Spring is no where to be found. I had to vent it out on the Chat thread, lol.

I am so sick of snow! I will be so happy when I can go outside with the kids, get a tan and soak up that good vitamin D (sunshine) it helps tramendously with my bi-polar and depression!

Ugh...I hear ya sister! Being a SAHM and depressed is the total pits...add in nasty weather (snow very recently here, too) and

In my case it's "when it rains, it pours" in more ways than one today...quite literally -- horrible thunder storms and tornado watches! My kids are so tired of not being able to play outside and the swampland, aka - our backyard, just looks depressing.

I'm so happy to hear your sweet DH took you out and did a "YOU" thing for ya...it is amazing how much the little things can make a difference. I hope your week only improves!
