Icon5 Naming woes! :(

Dh and I can't agree on a name for our baby girl, I like a ton of names but can't get him to really like any of them and he won't come up with names on his own so it's been all me thinking of names, so I told him that I will just name this baby whatever I like and he will just have to deal with it LOL!

these are some of the requirements that we both have: there has to be a Z name and she has to have a name with LON in it (after Dh's g-pa that just died in Dec.)

here are some names that I like or am just thinking about:
Zana, Zara, Zavery, AvyLon(Avy), AshLon, Carley(after me), Lonna, Cambri, Cambria, Devyn, EveLon, Zadie
That's all for now but I am constantly comming up with more. What do you think?

I think most men are like that, well my dh is that way. They don't agree but they don't put their 2 cents in either.

I like the idea of having Lon in the name.
What about Avalon? That is pretty...
My DH was really annoying me about the name and we couldn't agree for the longest time. Then a week or so ago he finally decided that my favorite name "grew on him"
Good luck!

Oh gosh...I'm so right there with ya on baby names! My DH leaves me feeling pretty stranded when it comes to naming. He likes next to nothing I suggest, yet has no suggestions of his own...and he knows it annoys me to no end. We had no issues with our first boy and first girl...but it's been very difficult with the others. He's my loving man and an awesome daddy, but this is certainly one area in which he hasn't earned "DH of the year"... I just keep telling myself that the baby will eventually have a name.

I knew of a girl named Avalon (short first A, not long as in 'Ava'). Your idea of using your name to come up with Carley after you is cute.

...I know it's hard! GL!!!

Carman,

For the record, I LOVE MY NAME!!! Everyone I ever meet is always complimenting on how beautiful it is. So if you want something pretty and not too far out there I think Zara would be a great name.

You should also look up the meaning of the names. Zara means lots of different beautiful things. I think in Hebrew it means "to sow", in Arabic it means "Princess", in Persian it means "Dawn's light". I could have them mixed up but I know that my name has lots of great meanings.

Happy hunting!

Let's see, from your list I like Carley and Zavery the best. I do think Zara has a pretty name too.

We had this discussion tonight. I've put off even attempting to discuss girl names, since DH wanted a boy so badly and we had that name decided. But everything I suggested tonight got a resounding "NO WAY" and the couple he threw out there, just left a bad taste in my mouth either from students I had had or known of in the past - or I just thought, "the kids will hate us if we name her that." Of course the one name book I still had is from the late 80's when I was naming my youngest son and doesn't even have 15,000 names in it total. So I'm going to do some checking in bigger fields. I just think I shouldn't have to settle when it comes to the name of my child - after all I was the one that committed to giving this child his mother's name as a middle name. Seems only fair that the first name should be something I really like. OK vent off.

Zana, Zara, Zavery, Carley(after me), Cambri, Cambria, Devyn

I like these, although Avalon is the name of a car, isn't it? Sorry...lol..I just know someone who named her son Delorean (a car) and her daughters Elantra (a hyundai), and Avalon (toyota). It IS pretty, but I think of the Toyota car. Just something to consider with that name...it isn't that it's a bad name though. I'd say though, that this mother came up with some unique names!

I like Carley...and Cambria is pretty. Cambria Zavery? Even Devyn Zara or Zana or Devyn Cambria, Devyn Carley

How about Avery Zara? or Avery Zana? I realize these don't have LON as the ending, but...there is a Z name HAHAHA (I like Avery for a boy or a girl but a girl better...)

You could always use BrayLON...lol

Evelon- would you call her Eve for short? I used to know a little girl named Eva.

Hmmm thinking of names with Z and LON... Zaylon? eh. Zaralon... I think you should use Carley somehow...Zevyn? (playing with Devyn)

Lana? not exactly LON, but close. And it might work with some of the names you picked. Like Lana Zavery... does it matter which order?

I ran across a list of names and actually thought of you, Carman LOL Now to find it!

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.

I'd be going through the same naming woes if this was a boy- and it still could happen... The boy wouldn't have a name. Boy names are so stinking hard to come up with- at least ones we both love. I had found a great name that I love and he didn't like it We have had a girl name to use since before kids and never got to use it! And now we may finally get to!

Thank you all for your help, I know that some of my names are out there but my other kids are
Zoie Zinnia, Margarette Zailynn Grace, and Xander Lyal Dalane, I am kindof known to do names that people have to think about or ones that they have never heard of.

I think so far the only name that we are really comming close to naming her is

Avylon and calling her Avy (short a like ahhh! LOL sounds like abby only with a v)

I was scanning a baby name site today and the name Alondra came up and I thought of you with the LON being in that name. I also thought it was a pretty girl name. Just thought I'd add to your considerations.
