I am at 2cm, not effaced and baby is still high. (Actually, she said that she touched his head and he floated away )

Last week my belly measured around 39 weeks and today it is even bigger! Yes, in 6 days, I got bigger still.

BP and urine were good. Group B came back negative.

I had my non-stress test and baby is looking healthy and active and I registered no contractions.

(Which I am relieved as I was having a lot of back pain today and I was getting nervous as DH is out of town tonight and after charging his cell phone all night last night, it wasn't holding a charge this AM I figured it I was going to go into labor, it would be now )

Yep it sounds like it could be soon.
I am anxious for my 37 week appointment tomorrow. I definately want to be checked because i think it could be anytime for me too!
I was 2cm two weeks ago so we will see.

One thing I didn't know is that my doc told me that in 1st pregnancies, usually the baby's head engages and then the cervix thins out and then dialation happens most often during labor.

She said in subsequent pregnancies, normally dialation happens first and then the baby's head engages and the cervix thins out during labor.

I wasn't aware of that.

That hasn't been my experience at all- I am at zero cm until the day I am in labor and then BLAM! I go from 0-8 in a few hours. Not complaining, it's just how my body does it I guess...it is like "I'm not ready....then it is like- ok NOW I am ready!" It has been that way all 3 times. I just don't even bother getting checked after 36 weeks (after the Group B test) until I am in labor.

Sounds like your body is getting ready...but you will not go into labor until your dh comes back!
