Okay, this is my first pg and I tried to look online and in my baby book, but I'm still not sure. ***TMI Warning*** I've been having discharge that I've never seen before. It is like brown stringy jelly-like snot. I've also had it mixed with clear with a tinge of pink. Sorry, I know it's gross. Is this my mucus plug? I've read conflicting info so I really don't know. I'm about 33 weeks and 3 days along, so if it is, do you think it will replenish itself? I've read that if you lose some of your plug early, it will replenish itself. Does anyone know if that's true? I have a doc appt tomorrow morning so I will ask her about it, I was just wondering if any of you BTDT moms would know.

Thanks in advance and sorry if I grossed anybody out.

Don't worry about the gross factor...that's what makes these boards so helpful.

So far, from personal experience, I have only lost a bit of my plug once and it was with my first. It was a good 2-3wks before he was born. I'm one who has walked around a good 3+cm dilated with three of my four for weeks as well. However, from what you're describing, I would guess that it is part of your plug. As you've probably read, it isn't necessarily indicative of having baby anytime 'too' soon. Of course, if you feel uneasy about it, call your doc, but I would personally probably wait it out until tomorrow if I didn't continue to lose more and/or have other significant symptoms of labor. GL!

Sounds like plug to me! This is usually a sign that your cervix is making some change, but doesn't indicate that your baby is coming very soon, by any means. I would definitely mention it to your dr, but I wouldn't make a special call about it or bring any of it in with you, or anything. I lost my plug about 3 weeks before my first and second babies; I didn't lose my MP with my third till I was in labor.
PS- Brown tinge is older blood, the pink is probably from capillaries in your cervix breaking as it effaces/dilates some.

Well said! I would agree with PP, I think it sounds like MP to me, I don't know about the replenishing bit, I don't think it does?

Yay, sounds like it to me! I have heard it can take weeks to go into labour after loosing it...for me it was 3 days. I also think you can't have baths...or is that after your water breaks??? Anyways...things are progressing!

Thanks so much ladies. I'm not having any signs of labor so I'm not worried about it. I have had some braxton hicks contractions, but nothing painful at all. Those have been going on for probably 3-4 weeks that I have noticed. I must admit, this did freak me out a little at first. I figured it had to be my mp, but didn't think it could happen this early so I think I was kinda in denial. I don't want this little guy to come until at least 37 weeks.

It does replenish itself. But only if you don't progress or have any labor signs. Ive BTDT with my first. I lost it twice. And the second time was the time.

I'm glad to hear this. I had dull cramps for about 5 minutes last night, but they went away. I don't think I will be having him anytime soon. No true labor signs for me yet. Hopefully mine will replenish itself. I'm anxious to meet my little guy, but not ready for him to come just yet!

Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone. About 2 weeks ago I had some bleeding, went to L&D and they couldn't find anything wrong. Ever since then, I've been having the same discharge that you're describing. It's not a lot but enough for me to wear a pantyliner each day. With my DD, I lost my MP in rather large chunks and then went into labor a few days later. Looks like this time it will just be this steady loss...oh, and I too have read that your MP can replenish.
