I had my consultation today with the "baby flipping doctor" and she pretty much convinced me that a c-section is probably the right way to go. She said she would try the version if I really wanted her to but said that she didn't think it looked too favorable for success. While I have enough amniotic fluid for the baby, there isn't an excess of it and she said that more fluid is better for versions. She compared my fluid to a bath rather than a swimming pool and said that swimming pools are better. She also said that the baby's butt is pretty engaged in my pelvis and that makes it more difficult because it's hard to get it out of there. There was alot of information but I left her office feeling comfortable with having a c-section so when I have my weekly appt with my regular OB on Friday I'll see about getting a date scheduled at the hospital. And the baby is measuring about 6 lbs 12 oz right now so she's pretty much completely out of space in there anyway.

Sorry the baby hasn't flipped and dr thinks its a no-go for the version. But am glad to hear that you are okay with a c/s. Baby is at perfect weight (not too big or not too small).

I am so glad that you are ok with a c-sec, I know how I felt when I was told that I needed one the first time after 15 hours of labor, I am glad that you got to find that out before going through a ton of labor and having it be a surprize.
You will do just fine, they really aren't that bad, I dont know anything different but I don't know if I could handle having a baby any other way.
it's also nice having a deffinate date for delivery too, and time!! it's harder to get an exact date and time with an induction, at least this way you can know what time the baby will be born too
Too bad about baby still being stubborn but glad you are okay with a c-section. I know it will all go well and you won't have to worry about going through labor first at least. And hey, having something scheduled beforehand is a definite benefit to it.
I can totally empathize with you - I went through the exact same thing with my dd. When I was first told I would have to have a C-section, I was devasted, but once I had made peace with it, it was a breeze. I never experienced any pain, not even while recovering.
Ah, that sucks. If it is any consolation to ya...my g/f just tried to have her breech baby flipped and said it was horrendous pain and it didn't even work. Those babies can be stubborn!!!
ditto to what everyone else said. ya know, there's probably a very good reason she has herself in that position. my dr always says, lets listen to what the baby is telling us.
Sorry it's a no go for the version; but let me say this: I've had 3 c-sections so far. This will be my 4th. My worst recovery - and I still don't consider that it was all that bad - was my first after 14 hours of unproductive labor. The scheduled sections were a breeze. Sure there was surface pain from the incision and sure I had to pamper myself a little with not doing some of the "strenuous" chores of the house (vacuuming, mopping, lifting) but who couldn't enjoy a break from those things KWIM? But by the time I came home from the hospital, I was pretty much getting around fine. My advice is not to give in to the surface pain by stooping over. The sooner you get yourself upright, the sooner you'll "work out" that soreness and you'll be moving like normal. Also any type of supportive panel or girdle to keep some pressure against the incision will help you too. If you don't have that, then having a little throw pillow to hold against your tummy when you are getting up and down will work too. You're going to do great! Your attitude is a key to a fast recovery and it sounds like you have a great outlook on everything!
Sorry she did not flip for you. However, it does sounds like you have peace with the c/s and really in the end and based on the baby's position is really does seem like it is the best and safest option. You will do just great!!! Good luck!!!
Did you try laying on an ironing board on a slant? Sometimes you can get the baby to come out of the pelvis that way. It is uncomfortable...but it sometimes works.
I guess if you know ahead it is easier to come to peace with it, but I was thinking about c-sections today and I wouldn't be afforded the "luxury" of recovering afterward. Dh and I were remembering yesterday how after our 3rd was born, and we got home the day after, his boss called and said that he needed to come to work even though he had taken the week off. So he got one day off when I had the baby...and his boss called and said "congrats. so can you come in to work soon?" And then the day I came home which was the next day- he had to go to work. They could have managed without him for a few days! We literally got home, ate lunch and then he was off to work from like noon- 6. So if I had a c-sec, I would have no recovery time at all. Apparently they don't think that even with a vag delivery that you need some help! You guys are lucky if you do get some time to recover! So no c-section for me!
And like I won't need help after with FOUR kids! (my mom will be here but I want my dh too!)

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.
