Lily Mae is here! she arrived on Sunday 15th June at 19.05pm and weighed 8lb 8oz.
Here is the birth story:
I started having pains on Saturday evening around 10pm and tried to get to sleep but the pains started getting stronger, so at 1am Sunday morning I started timing the contractions and they were around every 6 mins. I managed to hang on at home until I contacted the Maternity Unit and they asked me to come in around 8:30am. When I and my DH arrived at the MU I was examined by the Midwife and was around 4-5cm dilated already.
Because I am GBS+ they started a course of IV antibiotics and within 30 mins moved me down to the Labor Suite, where I tried many ways to get things moving even further. After around 3 hours with monitoring the nurse checked me again and I hadn’t dilated any further, they were also concerned about Lily’s heartbeat as she didn’t have any variation and was sticking around 140bpm. We continued to be monitored till 4pm when the nurse and a doctor decided to progress things by breaking my waters. Within minutes the contractions had increased in intensity and little Lily was definitely on her way, I was fully dilated at 6pm.
From 6pm I was really struggling to push her out as I was very tired and due to this she was in the cervix for quite along time, and her little heart rate kept on dipping to below 100bpm

and I knew no matter what I just had to push her out, after 65 mins of sheer hell, our little miracle finally came out, only with her cord wrapped around her neck, luckily it wasn’t to tight and the nurses managed to deal with it quickly. I was able to have my very first cuddle straight away and within minutes she latched straight on and was feeding.

After a short stay in hospital just to check on the GBS we are now home and everything is well.
