I'll post my birth story at another time, but I will just say that things did not work out exactly as planned. Anyway, Jacob arrived via c-section on Sat. the 21st.

His apgar scores were 9/9. He's doing well and is very healthy! I guess my doc was right when she said she thought he was big. I can't imagine how big he would have been if she would have let me go into labor on my own, considering I wasn't making any progress at all. I'm doing okay. I'm still quite sore and my legs and feet are so swollen. Much more than when I was pg. The nurses assured me it is normal, but I'm starting to wonder, so I am going to have to find out what's going on. It's pretty uncomfortable. DH says I look like the Michelen (sp?) Man. LOL!

If you had any fluid IV's during your labor those will make you swell up bigger than a balloon... seriously, when I left the hospital I weighed more than when I checked in.

And, having had 2 c-sections myself, I am here to tell you that, yep, the swelling is completely normal. I had it horribly w/my 1st and it freaked me out too but it was normal. It went away but it took nearly 2 weeks I think. I have some swelling this time too that hasn't gone away just yet and I'm 1 week postpartum but it was definitely worse w/my 1st.

12/10 u/s 8 weeks 4 days, both babies measured and same size ( h/Bs at 175 and 181)
12/20 u/s 10 weeks ..babies doing great!!!

Do you have pictures without the paci in his mouth? I LOVE the chunky cheeks...it reminds me of Breylan...he was 8 lbs 15 oz- so not quite as big as your little guy but he had that round face too. SO cute.

I had HORRIBLE swelling in my ankles after Katie's C-sec. I remember how painful it was to even walk on them. It took about 5 days for the swelling to go down so hang in there!

I was super puffy after my c/s as well. I was not swollen before I went into the hospital but they pumped me full of so many fluids during my stay and my feet, legs and hips stayed puffy until about a week afterwards. What a beautiful baby boy - congrats!

Thanks everyone! We are so in love with our little man! My swelling seems slightly better. I called my doctor's office and the nurse told me it would take awhile to go away. I guess I will have to live with it, but it sure is uncomfortable. I guess the nurses at the hospital weren't lying after all. LOL

Francine - Unfortunately, I don't have any other pics uploaded at the moment without a paci. Those were from the hospital and he was screaming as we were dressing him and he hated his car seat so we were trying to keep him happy. The majority of the hospital pics are with family members and friends so I didn't want to post them here. I'll post more when I get them uploaded. I love his chubby cheeks too. What a chunker he is.
