So when I initially talked to the heart dr he told me to take Hydralizine 2x a day and Norvasc 1x a day... I just looked at my prescription and for the Hydralizine I have to take it every 6 hours... which is 4x a day! I I had a dose at the hospital yesterday at 4pm, and didnt take anymore until this morning.... maybe thats why my BP is still crazy?? Unbelievable. I feel like an idiot... I am so angry with myself

The good thing is that you now know. I work in the medical field, and during our yearly education day we watched a movie that went over major medical mistakes. It stated that one of the most common mistakes was patients not taking their medication correctly, because of poor education from the medical staff. They quickly go over your med's and then expect you to keep it all straight. Most don't even have you repeat back what they have told you to see if you have understood. I am sorry that has happened to you! DO NOT FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT! Your doctor should have made sure you understood and so should the pharmacist! I hope that knowing the way to take it now helps keep your BP down!

easy mistake, IMO...

I can remember times where my dr told me he was giving me a prescription and to take this much this often and then it was different on the bottle...

now that you've realized it, I hope that your meds work much better for you! Still praying for you!

You shouldn't feel stupid. I would call the dr though because what the dr told you and what the RX says is so different. You don't want to OD.

There was some thing recently about a baby who was given an Rx for some illness- probably ear infection or whatever. Well- somehow the pharmacist put the dosage, the parents gave the baby what the dose was- and it wasn't crazy or anything- but the baby went into a coma because she got too much of the medicine. It was too much for her body size/weight etc. They blamed the pharmacist- but sometimes Drs write unclearly and people do make mistakes- who knows- it could have been a typo. The baby turned out to be ok, but if she had another dose she wouldn't have been. SO be careful!
It is scary because sometimes we have to trust that the Dr got the dose right, the pharmacist wrote it or read it correctly.

Don't feel stupid. I would just call the dr and find out the correct dose. Explain what the heart dr said, and what the prescription said...and find out what you are supposed to take.

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening.After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.

I would def call the dr and ask which dosage you're to follow. Better safe than sorry.

I don't trust the pharmasists at my local CVS. One of them was 100% convinced that my MW gave me a wrong prescription for the ctx -- which are the Albuterol tablets. She couldn't wrap it around her stupid head. She told me when I dropped it off and then again when my husband picked it up. I remember looking at the RX and asking the nurse "albuterol? Like the stuff in my husband's asthma inhaler?" She assured me that it was the right RX and explained why.

Anyway, please double check with your dr!

Don't feel stupid, ya know with all the meds that Xander and I are both on it is really hard to keep straight how much and how many times of day who gets what LOL if that makes sence, I always have to repeat it back to the nurse and dr and then have them go over it one more time with me and then the pharmasist goes over it with me too, I made a misstake a few times with my own meds and once with Xander's and learned my lesson really quick LOL

I don't blame you at all, it is hard when you are on so many meds and dealing with post-prego brain and sleep deprivation and such after having a baby, it is worse than prego brain IMO

I looked on my discharge papers and it says Hydralizine every 6 hours as well... guess it's right!
