This is a discussion on I'm back within the Due in June - Shaping Little Sunbeams forums, part of the Due Dates By Month category; So when I get there they hook me on the monitor. The HR nurse comes in and tells me that ...
So when I get there they hook me on the monitor. The HR nurse comes in and tells me that my legs are normal and probably from the weather... I almost started crying I was so fusterated. So then my OB comes in and says the baby looked good. My BP was 160/111 which she didn't like... and I showed her the swelling in which she didnt say much about. She asked me if I had been tested for the Group B strep yet and I told her no so she said she wanted to do that. Then she asked me if anyone had discussed a plan for me and I said NO. So she asked me how I felt about an amnio early next week to see if his lungs are developed. She said it would come back in 24 hrs and if that was favorable then we could deliver. I told her I would be ok with that and she said ok. She asked if I had any questions about the process and I said no, and she sent in the MA to come get my BP again and take me off the monitor.
I go back in an exam room and get ready to be swabbed. I asked her if my legs were normal, and she said in most cases yes. But she did say that because of my BP and the swelling was sudden, it probably wouldnt go away until I delivered. So she went ahead and swabbed me and checked me. She said I am 2 cm dialated and 50% effaced... she could feel his head. She said that usually with BTDT moms the mom and baby usually dont progress this early, and the baby usually doesnt drop until labor. She said he still is up there a little bit, but I definately have progress especially for being 36 weeks.
Then she asked me if I was busy tomorrow and I told her no. She gave me instructions to take my BP when I get up in the morning and call them at 8am... leave a message with the nurse that the dr wanted me to leave her a message with my BP and status of my swelling. If my BP is the same and my swelling hasn't gotten any better, then she said my cervix is favorable for induction tomorrow. If my BP and swelling are better, then she will get the amnio scheduled tomorrow for the beginning of next week. But she wanted to hold off scheduling that until she hears from me tomorrow. I think that she is thinking I am going to have a baby tomorow, so why schedule it!!! She told me that regardless if his lungs are ready or not, that it may just have to be done tomorrow.
Can I honestly say that, and you all know it because I have been posting it... my BP readings have been up there all this week... I dont think tomorrow is going to be any different for me. I have been having a feeling he was going to be born this week... especially since tomorrow is my DD's 11th birthday =)
Wow! I knew that Ryann would be born soon but TOMORROW!!! I hope that things work out to your advantage and little Ryanns, KUP on how your bp and swelling is doing. I hope you don't need to go do the amnio next week, I had to do that a few times with Xander and HATED it so bad!!
I am sooo glad to hear this news! I will continue praying for you and baby Ryann. I was born a month early and weighed 5lbs 7oz and had no breathing problems (or other problems, for that matter), and that was 27 1/2 yrs ago....
So, I'm praying the same for Ryann, if he comes tomorrow.
Keep us posted! We all care so much about you girl!

I know that the apt. today didn't take away any swelling or pain, but atleast now there is a plan. Can't wait to hear how it goes! Tomorrow you may be singing happy birthday to two!
Are you going to tell them your BP is high and the swelling hasn't gone down? Because I miiiight if I were in your case. I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow. BTW, at 36weeks, it is very likely his lungs are mature (from what I've read--but I'm no doctor)

Yay! I'm so happy to hear this! It's about time they get their heads out of their butts. I agree, you should tell them your bp is high and you're swelling like the state puff marshmallow man! Good luck! I hope everything goes well for you and baby Ryann tomorrow. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sorry that I am just now getting back on here to check on you. Glad to know that there if finally a plan in place and that you very well could be getting Baby Ryann as early as tomorrow. I will be praying that his lungs will be developed enough for a tomorrow delivery.
Can't wait to hear what the dr thinks tomorrow. Good luck.

Thanks everyone... I am eating a Pizza Hut pizza... because who knows what kind of day I will have tomorrow.... and then I want a tubal which they would do the day after I deliver so... kind of getting in my possible last meal for a while =) Alls I really wanna do is go to bed and wake up in the morning and make that call!!
Woo hoo! I can't believe tomorrow might be it! Good luck! And how cool that your 11 year old may have the same b-day as Ryann! Oh, and I graduate from college tomorrow so it seems like an ideal day for me, lol!
Shannon.... haha hey whatever I can do to help me out ya know? I seen an end in sight, and Im going for it girl!! I also contemplated walking around the block a few times, and a few other things I wont mention
The swelling is still there this morning... it let up a little but is coming back in full swing. My BP's so far this morning were 190/122 and 180/120... which would explain my HUGE headache. Just waiting for the clock to hit 8am to make the call =)

If they don't see that as a confirmation of PE then they are all crazy. I just saw a girl on Discovery Health Channel this morning with confirmed PE. Her legs weren't nearly as big as yours and her BP wasn't nearly as high either. I don't know what book your bunch has been reading, but I think they need to go back through the PE chapter in med school. LOL
Hope you get the go ahead to come in for induction this morning.
lol!!! Well little did I know the dr I saw yesterday is the one that is on call today... so thats probably the reason she wanted to check in with me this morning.... because she would be the one delivering my baby today. I called them, I gave them my BPs stated above.. we will see what happens!! I can't imaine them letting me go past today with a reading like that!!!
