Yes, I found out what we're having today ...but I have to hold my tongue and not yell it from rooftops here. Maybe on the private board? My OB was so cool about it, too. He couldn't get a between the legs shot abdominally so asked if I wanted to try vaginally. I said I was now desperate to know, so sure. Well, that machine had some big line going through the screen and wasn't very clear so he offered the chance to move across the hall (in my ripped paper "skirt" - very stylish) and use that one. He finally got the babe from up underneath. Vaginal wasn't easy either, though, since my uterus is tilted backwards (same as with my others). He wasn't quite sure at first, but then said, "Oh, yeah...." and pointed the area out. I was going to have him put the evidence in an envelope for me (which I had left in the van, oops), but it was such a neat experience that I just kept looking at the screen...and then he said it. My DH was in the waiting room with the kids and I walked out giggling. The pic isn't the best (I honestly can't tell from it and thought I was pretty good at these things by now), but hopefully I'll get confirmation next week at my big u/s. Anyway...I'm really tickled specifically pink or blue now! The doc said he's 95% sure. We're happy either way, but just really, really wanted to know NOW! haha He was just so awesome about it!

Oh...he was able to get ahold of my bloodwork from the pain in the butt clinic and all was good - no apparent chromosomal probs or anything. My quad screen came back good, too. YIPPY!!! BP and urine were fine. I actually got to skip being weighed today (huge stressor for me right now for various reasons) without any issue. Baby is somewhere around 13oz. now, was moving quite a bit (very cute seeing those legs kicking!), and had the lowest HR so far (140), but I hadn't eaten yet either and am sure my blood sugar was low...it was still in the normal range, so I'm not worried.

P.S. - I'm seriously almost feeling 'guilty' about HB now with this amazing, natural-minded Dr. who would let me have a waterbirth. ...So that's a little frustrating for me. I wish I could talk to him about it, but I just can't with the laws here (midwifery being "illegal").

Thanks, lisett...my DH and I really talked about it and we both agreed that we want to leave the element of surprise as much as possible for friends and family. However, our oldest two kiddos (11.5 and 9) are both just going crazy wanting to know. We're going to have to tell them. (Our little family secret - a special thing between us.) They can both stay quiet. My preschooler, on the other hand, no way! LOL!

Brandie - you make it tempting and I'm sure I'll have to spill it to someone, but, but, but.... (I'm seriously not being mean *wink* and having a hard time not saying anything...maybe I'll have to tell some fellow preggo mamas only?! It's not so much "can't" as "don't want to" on a public board since I know there are nosy people with big mouths (DH's family) who could find out...and tell absolutely everyone possible...that way. We didn't even get to tell DH's mom about the pregnancy...his sister did it for us. Then again, his mom isn't very involved with our kids (her choice) and lives far away, so whatever. I just know all too well that nobody on his side of the family keeps secrets...and what they do find out spreads like wildfire. We'd like to have one thing be just "ours" for awhile if that makes sense.

No, we haven't told the kids yet. Spencer is driving me crazy wanting to know, but I really want Jason here when we tell them and he's at work until after they're in bed tonight. I feel bad...but it's only one more day. I'm still loving that "baby blubber" comment of Cristina's - so precious. We've just started telling Ellie about the baby in my belly and she looks at me like I've lost my marbles and then pokes my bellybutton.

Im kinda thinking of knowing what this one is and not telling. Just saying to people that we decided not to find out or the baby was not cooperating, teehee. But I don't know if I can keep that big of a secret. And if its a girl, itll be hard hiding pink in an all blue house, especially a pink/girly nursery.

And don't feel badly at all for wanting a HB. Seriously, if you have to, you can always have a hospital birth with this doc, but you normally can't up and leave from the hospital to go home to birth the baby.
