I feel like I'm on hold....
Our house is for sale right now, has been since November. We knew that putting it up for sale around the holidays we probably wouldn't get much action until after New Years, but we've had 25 to 30 people look at it, but no offers. It's a small house but it's on an acre with a very Large shop with a rental suite, so it's a very desirable property in this area. I want to be out and into a new house by the end of April at the lastest, so we have time to set up for baby.
It's getting really frustrating just waiting for something to happen. I can't start shopping for baby, getting the nursery ready, Moving stuff out of Trevors room and into the baby's and getting new stuff for Trevor. I can't start packing because I don't know how long it will be before we sell and who knows when I might need stuff, but I also don't want to wait until too late in the pregnancy when I won't be able to do as much.
We also have out eyes on a house we want but we can't make an offer until ours sells. I sooooo want the house, and I'm worried it will get sold before we get it!
Grrrrr I just want something to happen!!!!

Hope someone has great interest in it and buys it soon so you can put in an offer and hopefully get the house that you have been eyeing on.

Re: I feel like I'm on hold....
Good luck! I am right there with you! We have been on the market since July. I am really anxious about getting in somewhere and settled. Especially since we are probably going to have to finish a basement and put a bedroom down there before I can even start on a nursery.
Like you, we haven't put an offer on another house until we have something done on ours. However, we had a showing this morning and there is word that we may be getting an offer, so you never know when/if the tides may change. Now I am having a complete anxiety attack as these potential buyers want in "the beginning of Feb". We are going to look at houses tonight.
I hope it works out for both of us. I am surprised at how many more showings we are getting now vs. last summer/fall. The market feels like it is picking up a bit already. I hope that holds true.

Re: I feel like I'm on hold....
I feel your pain! We're going to list our house for sale TODAY! I'm really nervous about moving out and finding a house or else we'll be paying 2 mortgages for God knows how long. But just like you I want everything to be perfect for baby and I can't even begin to buy and decorate until we find a home.
If my house sells and we still haven't found a home we want to buy then we're going to be stuck at my mil's rental property which I hate! We would at least have a place to live, but I want to bring my baby HOME.
*sigh*
Best wishes to everyone else who has their home on the market! I hope it sells very soon!

Re: I feel like I'm on hold....
we literally redid the floors, painted and moved rooms right before the baby was born. So you can imagine the amount of furniture I had to move out of 5 bedrooms, a living room, dining room and a kitchen for the floors and paint. I have no idea how I did it all, but I went into crazy mode and was not happy about doing it, but was so happy it was done by the time the baby came. I hope it won't be down to the last minute for you. Sending some selling vibes your way. Hope I know which direction you live

Re: I feel like I'm on hold....
that you get an offer really soon and then get the house you really want! Selling is such an iffy thing right now with the market so soft. Hope someone comes along that can't live without your house.
What about packing up things that you definitely don't use - china or other holiday dishes, extra decorative knick-knacks, or things like that? Just a thought.

Re: I feel like I'm on hold....
wishing you all the luck on selling your house! We put ours up for sale a month before christmas and it sold in just two weeks! all the other homes in the area were not selling so we put our price down just a tiny bit lower that theirs. We were so shocked that it sold so quik!! We realy didn't think it would happen.
I'm sure you will be getting that offer soon!
