Default Horrible pain down there?

I have been experiencing horrible pain "down there." It feels like my pubic bone but I'm not sure. It's not a pain like anything is "happening," more of a dull ache that is really bad when I walk and seems to get worse and worse as the day progresses.

DD is sick today so we've spent the entire day, in PJs, around the house. I've done nothing and it's hurting. I feel like I need an ice pack...or heating pad but how silly would I look with one of those on my crotch. Oh, and it's in the front. Is this normal? I'm not explaining it very well but I don't remember feeling anything like this with DD. It hurts!!!

I have been in pain since like 13 weeks and it just gets worse for me. I have to have DH put my pants and shoes and socks on for me sometimes and help me roll out of bed because it is so freaking painful. When I was in Yosemite from all of the walking I did call my doctor and she told me I could take some tylenol because I was in so much pain I could not lie down comfortably. Amazingly it helped. I am a weirdo about taking anything even when I am not pregnant, but that showed my DH how much pain I was in.

Shoot it posted before I was done. If you have a belly belt wear it when you are walking around and the only other thing my doctor recommended was swimming.

You may be experiencing pubic symphysis dysfunction (PSD). That is what I was diagnosed with a few weeks ago. My OBGYN said that you are more likely to have it the more pregnancy you have. Your body makes relaxin, which is what allows your hips to spread as you are further along. Sometimes one side of your pelvic bone (which the two sides are held by a ligament) can be too loose. When this happens it can move when you are walking and rub on the other bone or on the ligament. For me it feels almost like a vertical line of pain in the pelvic region. My doctor said anti-imflamatories won't help, and unfortunitely it will only get progressively worse as the baby is bigger. The good news, it should go away soon after the baby is born. What you can do: soak in the tub, takes pressure off, remember not too hot, and only if you are still closed up tight. Yes you can put a heating pad on your "crotch". My doctor said moist heat! And not too hot, medium setting is best. It looks crazy but helps. I have tried the regular prego support bands, it didn't help me at all. They do actually sell braces for the pelvic bone for pregnant women. Thank goodness for working in therapy, our brace guy came this week and was able to tell me what to order. It is called Maternity SI-LOCŪ . So I will let you know if it helps, I ordered it, but it will take a week to get it. I also am scheduled for a massage tomorrow with a certified thepist for pregnancy, so I will let you know if that helps. So far I am bearing it, it definitely increases with movement, sitting long periods, and as the day goes on. The doctor did say since I am in the third trimester I could have pain killers, but have only taken 1/2 two times when it got unbearable. Sorry if this is not feel good news, but if nothing else maybe it will give you something to talk about your doctor about. And hopefully this is not what it is, and yours will get better!

I haven't experienced this, but it sounds painful. I hope you can find something to relieve the pain soon.

That does sound pretty painful. I'm sure that this is different but a lot of times it feels like she's trying to stick a fist through my cervix. Probably not the same pain huh? Either way, I hope that you get some relief for the next couple of weeks!!

Katie said what I was going to say about the hormones causing the muscles to relax more, to get ready for the baby. Yes, it can be worse the more pregnancies you have, but I remember it happening at the end of the first because of the weight of the pregnancy. It hurt more with my others and it started earlier, but so far I have only noticed it a couple times this time. (I think it is due to my continuing to exercise honestly.) I do remember it being painful with my 3rd though! I remember complaining and asking what to do! HAHA

Hope you feel better soon.

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.
