I had an u/s today to check on just how big Ms. KL is getting. I've had a feeling all along that she's a big baby, and today it was confirmed. She is currently weighing about 3 lb 8 oz and I'm just 29 weeks along. I can only imagine how big she'll be at birth if she's already above average.

I totally forgot to ask her height, but I put a call into my OB to let me know as soon as they get Radiology's report.

Her heartbeat is at 154 bpm and apparently she has hair now!

At one of my last u/s, they wouldn't even estimate a length or height. They said they usually didn't do it after a certain point since they like to do the crown to rump and the whole baby won't fit on the screen anymore. But I know plenty of other's that have had it done, they just go off of bone length or something.

I've been told that I'm growing a little one...so we're at opposite ends!

If it makes you feel better at 29 weeks Presley was 3lbs 12 oz by estimate and measuring 2 full weeks ahead - YIKES. So at least KL is a little smaller than someone here. I am SO hoping Presley either slows down or their guestimate was at least a 1/2 pound off. She was in a bad position for getting good clean shots for measurement - so I can always that that was a contributing factor.

If Presley can just be 8 pounds no more than 8 1/2 I'll be happy; of course anything less will be even better for me with my c-section to deal with.

Thanks Shannon! KL was head down already so they got great measurements of her skull and got some good shots of her femur. Let's hope these chunky monkeys don't make it to 10 lbs. YIKES!

My kids always measure big at late ultrasounds, and my first was 7lbs 9 oz at birth (3 weeks early) and my second was 8lbs 2oz at birth, a full month early!!!! This one is measuring almost 2 weeks ahead, was over 4 lbs at my 31 week ultrasound with a big head!!!! Gulp...

Is that big? My doc told me that my kiddo was about average size - not too big, not too small. I had my last u/s at exactly 30 weeks and she was 3 lbs 10 oz. So not too much bigger than Miss KL and only a week difference. The general rule of thumb (according to my old OB) is that you take the weight at 30 weeks and double it to come up with the weight at 40 weeks. That would put my little girl at between 7 and 7.5 lbs at birth - that rule worked perfectly with Ava as well....

OOH I like that rule! Let's hope that is the way it is. I would be so thrilled for another 7 1/2 pounder - give or take a few ounces. My Ava was 7# 10oz and she was born 2 weeks before my LMP due date and 1 week prior to her measurement due date.
