Freezer recipes?
Anyone have any good freezer recipes to share? I just realized yesterday that I have 10 weeks left and I need to be prepared with some things in the freezer. With Kate, I made chili and lasagna but the sauce bothered her when BF. She had acid reflux so I guess that didn't make it any easier. I do have a good recipe for chicken enchiladas that gets frozen. I'll have to dig that out and post it.
Anyone have any good recipes?

Re: Freezer recipes?
I know there are a lot of sites that have OAMC (one a month cooling) recipes.
Maybe just google OAMC recipes.

Re: Freezer recipes?
Ugh! We did this last weekend! I made a bunch of freezer meals b/c my DH family is coming to stay (all 5 of them and we don't have a guest room ) a WEEK after I have my C-sec.
So I made lasagna, cabbage rolls, spaghetti sauce & taco casserole. If I'm BF-ing I won't be eating some of those but at least I know I don't have to cook for 8 people!!!

Re: Freezer recipes?
I really want to do this this time, but our extra freezer in the garage has been having probs lately. It isn't reliable enough to make me feel comfy storing things that really need to stay frozen in it. We don't have the extra room in the house, and I doubt we'll be replacing it before the baby, but I'll be on the look-out for recipes just in case. Thanks for posting! I do plan to do some banana bread and muffins - something easy and quick that can be stored in freezer bags (that don't take up too much space) that I can get out before bed and are ready to grab in the mornings with fruit...because I know I'll be very tired in the beginning.

Re: Freezer recipes?
I don't know how many people like meatloaf, but I consider it one of my favorite comfort foods! Here is a yummy recipe:
Little Cheesy Meatloaves
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
1 c. shredded cheese
1/2 c. quick cooking oats
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 tsp. salt (I use garlic salt for a little extra
flavor)
1 lb. ground beef
BBQ sauce
(I also add a pinch of dry mustard for flavor)
Beat egg and milk. Stir in cheese, oats, onion and
salt. Add beef and mix well. Shape into 8 little
loaves, place in greased 9x13 pan. Top with BBQ
sauce.
Bake uncovered at 350 for 45 min. Once cooled, you can freeze.

Re: Freezer recipes?
Here's another recipe. This one sounds weird but it is really good! (and it's easy!)
Tater Tot Casserole:
1 lb. ground beef, cooked & drained
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can french cut beans
1 package tater tots
Mix meat, soup and beans in a 9x9 pan. Layer with Tater Tots.
Bake 30 mins @ 350 degrees.
OR
BBQ Style:
1 lb. ground beef, cooked drained
1 can baked beans
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 package tater tots
Mix meat and beans in a 9x9pan. Layer with chopped veggies and taters.
Bake 30 mins @ 350

Re: Freezer recipes?
I need to start thinking about this kind of stuff too.
What do you package them in. We have a food saver but it might totally smash whatever you are saving.
How long do these meals last in the freezer?

Re: Freezer recipes?
I just made tater tot casserole the other night! LOL I put veggies in mine though too. You can put just about anything that sounds good...green beans, corn, tomatoes, whatever.
I think I am going to do something called www.dreamdinners.com You can go get the meals or have them pre-assembled and pick them up and you get about a month's worth of dinners. They are nutritious and really good. I don't normally use the dream dinners but my friends who work do. It's MUCH cheaper than going out and all you need to do is thaw and cook them. The portions are pretty generous too. I suggested it to dh because after having the baby I don't want to think about preparing dinner! LOL Plus if my parents are both here, it would be expensive to order in every day for a few days. Not saying we won't get take out a few times or even go out- but it is easier with all that will be going on. I told dh that it will take me some time to adjust to having 4 kids! Plus- they will be off school so I will have them ALL everyday! OY!

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.
