Icon5 the flu

Hey ladies,

It's been a crazy 2 weeks since I had my little guy ( Matthew Christopher, June 9th 8lbs oz) I will try and post my birth story in the next few days when things get back to normal ..... do things ever get back to normal, lol.

Anyways I have a quick question about pumping. I am breast feeding and it is going great, but in a month or so I am planning on introducing a bottle with EBM. I came down with this flu this weekend (as well as DH and DS, just what we needed with a two week old baby) I know my baby is protected from this through the antibodied produced, but I did pump twice on Thursday (to freeze for future) so is it safe to use this pumped milk if there is a chance that I already had the flu bug in me? Or should I throw it away just to be safe?

TIA

They cant get the flu from your breast milk. My last trip to L&D I had a stomach virus and she said if I had the baby it would not get it throughmy breast milk or if I had the flu virus.

Hope you are fully recovered

When you say the flu do you mean a stomach virus? While it is true that you would not pass it through your milk, if you have enough of a supply, you may want to toss it in case you contaimenated the bottles/bags accidently with germs on your hands -- kwim?
