which do you like better
Well I think we may have come to a decision on a girl name, but ofcourse I have to be difficult and am not sure how I like the spelling better.
the name we are thinking of is Olivia Ruth but I also kind of like Alivia Ruth. It's a little different and sounds just about the same and I kinda of like the nicname Ali. so just wondering what you all think. I havn't run the alternate spelling by DH yet so he might just say no. but thought I'd get some outside input anyway.
Also these are some boy names we have narrowed down (I wish the list was longer as I'm not totally in love with one or the other) keep in mind we have a DS Colton and a nephew the same age basically as DS who is named Camden. anyway...
Carson James
Hunter James
I like them both but dislike them for different reasons. My problem with Carson is mentioned above and my problem with Hunter is well DH is a major hunter like if they have a season to kill it he usually is out hunting it. Everyone we know, knows this and I just wonder if people will think its weird or quirky or cruel to name a kid that (under our circumstances). Like I said I really like them both but am not completely sold that either one is our best choice.

Re: which do you like better
I prefer the old spelling Olivia - but just because I like classic names like that. If I were going to have a nick name for it, I would probably call my little girl Livi. If you really like the nickname Ali - the of course go with the alternate spelling. You will have to understand that misspellings will probably occur with an alternate spelling - especially of a classic name like Olivia.
As for the boys, I like them both. I have a DH that is a hunter and fisherman too. I had thought of names that related to those activities before and it was actually my DH that shot them down. We know of some people that named their twin sons either Trapper and Hunter or Trapper and Tanner - PG brain won't let me remember for sure. I always thought it was neat. DH happened to look at it as trendy - back then lots of people were naming boys Hunter. If your DH is into it, I don't think anyone would look at it as strange.

Re: which do you like better
I prefer Olivia, I'm not huge on misspelling names, it just isn't my cup of tea.
On your names I like Carson, and think that it actually fits in nicely with cousin and son. Hunter though is one of my least favorite names (bad association), but my sister is planning to name her son Hunter if/when they have another one, and her man is a huge hunter too. I think its a little cheesy... but! I would say its more fitting then an animal right activist, vegetarian naming their son Hunter, and I know a few of those!

Re: which do you like better
I really like your alternate spelling of Alivia! It is so pretty and feminine. But...I am a fan of "different" names! So if you like traditional better, you may want to stick with the regular spelling.
It seems like Carson is becoming a more popular name than Hunter these days, both are adorable, and who cares what other people think about the whole hunting thing! If you like the name than you should go with it!

Re: which do you like better
I like Olivia the best. I have always liked that name. I am not a fan of Alivia because it looks misspelled to me and I am a bit fanatical when it comes to correct spelling and grammar (drives dh nuts btw!)
As far as boys, if Kylie had been a boy she would have been named Hunter. Now I am not a big fan of that name anymore and prefer Carson. I wouldn't worry about Colton and Camden being too close. I had the same issue when dh said he wanted to name this baby Cohen. We have a Kylie and she has cousins named Channing, Clay, and Katie so I thought that would get confusing. Everyone else has told me not to worry about it and that it isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I am glad I decided to listen to them now cause Cohen has really grown on me since then.

Re: which do you like better
Personaly (I am strange) I love the spelling Alivia for a girl and I have Always loved the name carson, but DH never has, but here is my reasoning (I remind you I am strange)
My name is CARman and he would be my SON, I always thought that would be cool! LOL I know!!
But in all honesty I do like the name Hunter too, one of my friends sons is Hunter, and Harley so I have come to like both of them because they are both good boys!
