Crib bedding
I am completely going out of my mind trying to find crib bedding that I actually like.
I DO NOT want theme bedding or anything quilted and it seems that those are my only options if I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it. I want something super chic and beautiful. Really I just want the bumper, skirt and MAYBE the sheet. That's all! But alas, it feels as though I need to pay $700+ for what I like and I REFUSE!
There's no way something like this can be $850!!! by Bunny Blue Miss Princess
Can anyone sew? I'd be more than happy to pay someone to make something similar for my princess.

Re: Crib bedding
Crib bedding is SO expensive! I found a place online that has good stuff, the Brandee Danielle stuff is cute I think but prob not exactly what you are looking for. Here is the site: Crib Bedding, Baby Bedding, Baby Nursery Room Cribs & Crib Sets. I also don't like themes too much, and we don't do commercialized stuff for our kids in general (Thomas, Dora, etc) so it definitely adds a challenge. Pottery Barn Kids has some cute, plain stuff and their prices are good. There are also a couple decent ones at Babies R Us, the Wendy Bellisimo collection. Have fun! I wish I had a nursery to decorate but this kid isn't getting zip until we get his/her two older brothers into their bunk beds in about year.

I don't sew but my MIL does. If she is not working, she is sewing.

Re: Crib bedding
I buy all my crib and toddler bedding through an Ebay store. But they sell things by the set, which includes a comforter, skirt, sheet, bumpers, valances, and usually a diaper hanger and toy or supply bag for the wall. I got my bedding for under $100. Their things have always been of good quality. Here is a link to their store site. eBay Store - Beyond Bedding: BEDDING, AUTOMOTIVE, CHILDREN'S BEDDING Don't know if you would find anything there you are interested in but it may be worth a look. They also have lamps, and other accessories to match all their bedding.

Re: Crib bedding
Yeah $850 plus $40 if you like the extra satin ribon on the dust ruffle. Really!?!
It's times like these that I wish I knew how to sew. My grandma did and she would make me anything I wanted. I wish she was still around today to see my baby and help me decorate her nursery.

Thanks for the links! I have searched up and down Ebay, but I don't like any of their stuff. I'm so freakin' picky.

Re: Crib bedding
I was going to say you probably don't want to go really fancy, expensive, and really nice since it may get stained (spitup), ruined or ripped (pulling up/climbing stage) as they grow.
Im sure you checked all of the stores/designers like Target, Amy Coe, Pottery Barn, Wendy Bellissimo, JCPenney,...
Hope you find a bedding you like. Good luck continuing your hunt.

Re: Crib bedding
Yeah I've checked on the Bellismo and all the other high end volume store brands. I'm not liking any of it at all.
I just want the bumper and skirt to be pretty. Since I know I'll be changing bedding at least 2x per week if spit up, poop or pee wind up on the sheets. Those can be plainly pink and from the dollar store for all I care. Well they do have to be 100% cotton.

Re: Crib bedding
I didn't like any sets either, so I just registered for individual pieces that I can mix and match. We don't know the gender so that limits our color option, but I like neutral tones anyway.
Hope you can find something you like soon!

Re: Crib bedding
Change the sheets twice per week....hee hee heee.....that's funny But then again my son had reflux. I remember one day he spit up 15 times before 9 am - I counted. Anyway, have you looked at PoshTots Baby Furniture, Children's Furnishings, Baby Bedding, and Gear for Baby and Child That is one of my faves.

Re: Crib bedding
I was going to suggest Posh Tots. I found a set there if i decide to do a nursery. Good luck and also try some of your local boutiques. They will still be more expensive than most, but you might find something you can't live without

Re: Crib bedding
Thanks girls! I tried PoshTots too, but they're a bit pricey for me.
I've found someone who can make whatever I like at a reasonable cost.

Re: Crib bedding
I sew but don't think I could sew something like that. So glad you found someone who can make something for you.
As for changing the sheets, I did it once a week IF that. I used the sheet savers (I had a reflux baby who spit up ALL the time) and it saved me a lot of repetitious changing. ALl I had to do was change the sheet saver and add those to the regular laundry. They just tie to the crib. Here's what they look like:
