Well I thought that today was going to be the day, but I guess not. My lower back started hurting non-stop at 9 pm last night and I was having sporadic contractions. Around 4:30 this morning contractions woke me up and were consistent at 10 minutes apart. My husband said I had been having them since 3:50 because I woke him up by wiggling and moaning in my sleep. He said I would do this every 10 minutes. They weren't strong enough to need pain medicine but enough to make me uncomfortable. I was never able to go back to sleep because of being so uncomfortable. They continued to increase in frequency and intensity as the morning progressed. I had increasing lower back pain with each contraction. I held off going to the hospital because I had my weekly doctor's appointment at noon. The doctor said that despite the contractions that I am not progressing so no baby today and to go home, take tylenol and rest. It is now 7:30 pm and I have been having contractions most of the day consistently 3-4 minutes apart. The doctor told me that she would probably see me next week and that I could continue having contractions the whole time and to embrace the contractions because they were ripening my cervix. I'm sure you all know what I wanted to tell her when she told me to embrace the contractions. LOL! It's going to be a long week if I have to be this uncomfortable. I am 39 weeks so I really wish she would have done something. I can't wait for this little girl to get here.
