icon16 Buying Pink Stuff

Its not what you think - we still don't know what we are having. I know this sounds weird but this will be my very last baby and therefore my very last chance at having a girl so I have been buying girl stuff here and there just incase. My logic is, if we do have a girl, we have absolutely nothing for her, not a blanket, not a onesie, not a bottle - everything we have is blue since neither of my kids looked good in yellow. Tonight I bought a couple of possible coming home outfits, SO CUTE!!! Its actually been really fun, as twisted as it may sound. I figure if we do end up having another boy, I can give everything to one of my many friends who are pregnant with girls right now. Is this super strange? I'm actually embarrassed to tell my husband

It's not strange at all!
I bought a bunch of cute baby girl's clothes at Gymboree a few weeks ago and I figured even if I found out it was a boy that I would be able to give them to someone.
It's so much fun to shop for little girls...

No...... I have held onto boy things that I bought or got when I was pg with Isabella. I also had a m/c after Isabella and got a few great things that I could not pass along that were for a boy. I was having a boy. I understand your want and need to just buy it even if you may not end up needing it. Don't be embarrassed, certainly not here. :bighhug i want to see what you got

ps the coming home outfit that we will use for this baby was the one I had when I thought Isabella was a boy. It even came to the hospital with us in my hospital bag last time

Not strange. Im getting more and more tempted too. We have no pink as well and I have been eyeing lots of pink stuff (bedding included). But I don't dare tho (plus I know no one close that is pg with a girl).

I remember buying blue stuff before we knew #1 was a boy. I just had that strong sense of feeling. Sure enough, there was a penis at the u/s, lol.

Its weird cause when I was pg with both my boys, I never had the strong urge to buy pink stuff. With my first, I just knew he was a boy, I actually called him "he" from the beginning of the pg and would cringe when people would say "she" cause it just didn't feel right. My youngest, I thought girl (until we found out at 16 wks) but never felt it enough to buy anything. I am wondering though if this time I am just so hopeful that I have convinced myself that I have a mother's instinct about it being a girl. And I also think that buying this girl stuff will satisfy that need I have had to buy cute pink items and then if I have a boy I'll be over it. Because I really honestly will be happy either way, I know its hard to believe but I will! Its just those clothes, they suck you in

No- because you don't know what you're having- and it is better you have SOMETHING for "her" of it turns out a girl- than to have dh or someone just go out and find "SOMETHING!" LOL If dh is good at picking stuff though, you have no worries. But if he is like mine, he will come home with something not that cute! LOL Rarely he finds something, and does ok but that is a rarity!

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.

I don't have any girl stuff either and I broke down and bought 1 little pink shirt for 2$ the other day! LOL I will get more once I know for sure but right now I am trying to not buy any...the only exception being the 2$ shirt. HAHA I figured that wasn't much and I could donate it or whatever...it was on clearance and I doubt they will let me return it since the store is moving and they are getting rid of everything but groceries right now.

I have a friend who is having her baby in March and she doesn't know the sex. She has 2 boys but she bought a couple of onesies and outfits in girly girl stuff just in case. She has the receipts...I HOPE she has a girl! LOL
