Icon3 BF'ing Moms...

I was dropping off a gift to a mom of a newborn at church today (also her fifth baby) who said these are total lifesavers for ouchie nips:
Soothing Gel Pads : Breastfeeding - Playtex Baby

We were comparing stories about how much those early days can hurt (even when baby's latch is good) and she said she really wished she had known about these earlier and highly recommends them. She uses Lansinoh, too, and said these even beat out that...so I thought I'd pass it along.

Thanks for the review. I bought a pack of those a week ago but have yet to open. Guess I should now, lol. Im in nip pain hell, well have been since she was born. Sometimes dread when its feeding time due to the pain. She has one heck of a latch and suck I tell ya. My boys were lazy at the boob so I didn't have this bad of a pain with them.

I have 2 packs of Soothies Gel Pads coming in the mail - very similar, just a different brand. I am hoping that they will keep mine from becoming sore from the start. TFS

I am sold. I was a rough two months in the begining with Isabella between the sore cracked very painful nips and 3 boughts of mastitis there were moments I prayed she would refuse my boob, but in the end the roughing it out was well worth it. I will try anything this time to reduce that if it possible or necessary

Oh, Bella'sMommy, that reminds me...my friend who recommended these said she has been dealing with mastitis as well...and these have been great for that!

in the end the roughing it out was well worth it
So true here, too...that's what always gets me through the rough beginning weeks.

TFS! I don't think those would do me any good though, I don't get sore nips except if we get thrush, I got that a few weeks ago and now we are over it and nursing is going great! I hope they work for everyone else though!!

Getting them on the nips/bbs is a PITA due to the sticky gel crap that sticks to your finger. Holy cow that gel stuff is super duper sticky. So I wasted a few trying to get them on and not having the clear covering come off too while getting the blue covering off AND getting them out of the packet to begin with. Not sure if Im going to buy more due to that.

My bbs are starting to itch too so Im not sure I like these.

How funny! A friend of mine just recommended those to me yesterday and I had never heard of them before then. She says she will never go back to nipple cream again! I have the nipple cream and will be trying that first if I need to. I will look into the other if it gets too painful though. Thanks for the link!!
