Appt update
The place where I am getting everything done called me just now. I guess they changed their course of action. I still have to go for the MRI tomorrow... but then I have to go to their OBGYN office (all in the same facility- it's like a huge hospital) and get some blood tests done and give a urine sample as well.
What's changed- my appt for Monday. They want to run several tests tomorrow- they want to test my blood for a certain antibody that would possibly cause Ryann to have a low platelet count (because they cant test his blood for it- a low platelett count would cause him to hemorrhage)... they want to test for infection such as Toxoplasmosis and CVP? A few more things I am sure I am missing out... then whenever my appt is on Monday, I will meet with the Maternal Fetal genetic dr, get my u/s, then meet with the Genetic Counselor Dr, and also Pediatric Neurology. we will then go over everything that they find, didnt find, and kind of give me possible outcomes. They wanted Pediatric Neurology to sit in to get their opinion as well in the event anything is found. Again, she ended the convo telling me they just may never know until he is born... all this is just to gather more info and try to find a reason why.
She tell me the good thing they mentioned was that at the time of the u/s they didnt see any hydrocephaly, which is fluid on the brain, which could indicate CP. Thats not to say that they wont find it at the follow up u/s, but they didnt see it initially. And he can recover fine from a bleed in his brain. So theres a little positive info.
I asked her is there a condition that would warrant immediate delivery, and she said at the time no, but thats not to say they won't find something and then it would change. But she did say that she didn't think so....

Re: Appt update
I am so glad that they are getting things done now! I agree with Zara, lots of water and snacks to keep you going through all of this, I have a good feeling about all of it, you have a ton of people praying for Ryann and you that you both are healthy and safe.
I am glad that they didn't see any signs of hydo at the last u/s, that was one of the major problems with Xander when he had his brain probs inutero.
Update us as soon as you can and let us know how you are doing after all the poking and proding tomorrow.

Re: Appt update
I dont know what happened, but she told me that they have a meeting with all of the high risk dr's and specialists in the state that work for their association and specific department once a month, and that meeting happened to be today, and I was discussed at this meeting. Thats probably why the course of action has changed. She also did tell me that the MRI isnt even the most important piece of info at this moment....

Re: Appt update
So glad they are going to check everything there is to check that could be relative. That is great. Glad you will still get the full lowdown on their findings Monday, rather than putting it off for another day. Is your SO going with you for one or both of the appts? I always find it better to have an extra set of ears when there is a possibility that there could be lots of info coming my way.
As for the hydrocephaly, if they happen to find anything in that area, don't let it get to you. It doesn't always mean severe consequences. My teaching buddy had a little girl in class that had it as a baby and no one even knew about it, until she had an incident where the shunt got blocked and had to be replaced. She was a good student and had no outward signs that she even had a shunt in place or had suffered with hydrocephaly at all. Just a delightful little girl.
Hope you get lots of rest tonight for your busy day tomorrow.

Re: Appt update
Woohoo...thank the good Lord! Their turnaround and suddenly being so proactive is just absolutely amazing! It seems that your bases will be covered and then some. That's got to be such a relief for you. Best wishes and lots of prayers tomorrow.
